    Random Unthreadworthy Questions

Yeah something like that. It was Fila then spyder then windsong brands. I think sierra but also Costco CAN. It’s probably some tried design with the cloud veil name on it. The founder went on to make stio brand. If you’re looking at the 50.00 Durango if it’s got the features u want what the hell. Beware compression straps across the side pockets which can make bottles kinda a pain.

Not that u asked but the Modase 40L is 25 bucks and 18.x oz before cutting out the self packing pocket and extra belt length. Could cut out the hydration sleeve too. Side pockets aren’t great for bottles either but they hold them, hard to reach. Not waterproof at all, in fact, it’s kinda hydrophilic so u need/want a pack liner most times. But hey, 25 bucks!

Yeah, the Durango 27L for $40. I already bought it and when I check it out can return it on the spot, so not worried. And I'm really not caring that much about how it functions as a hiking daypack, mostly as a travel pack/carry-on/"personal item" (which of course means it will occasionally get hiking use). My old Lowe Alpine pack that I got in the early 90s from STP is moving toward the end of its life. I mostly use my biking camelback as my hiking dayback.

Score! I’ve done a bunch of city trips and squeezed everything for a weekend into a 28L Kelty I have. It’s a sweet airplane size. I also like how it’s small but you can make it seem like it won’t fit under the seat in front of you.

that was the motivation to get off my ass and buy something, I have a weekend flight/trip next month on a budget airline and all I get is under the seat, so I needed something to cram everything into. I'm also going to dress like Ralphie's little brother to get more clothes on the trip.

So there's only the risk of driving a few minutes out of my way.

But I am curious, I know the original Cloudveil went belly-up, and so what I am buying is the old intellectual property tacked onto new gear. But who makes it? Where are they selling it? I tried to google or search for ANY cloudveil products for sale anywhere, and Sierra seems the only place, and nothing there has ANY reviews. Weird. Anybody know the deal?
I’m not a lawyer, but google tells me the clothing/outdoor shit trademark registration (sn 76185996) is cancelled as of last month (august 5, 2022). So I’d assume whoever held it didn’t gaf

edit: wonder how many people shitting on Patagonia internalize what a brand graveyard outdoor gear is?

Ok to drink summer IPA’s after summer? Or is that like white after Labor Day. Not going to risk it so off to work through the remaining stock.

Best way to enjoy an IPA:
    1. Open beverage
    2. Dump out contents in nearest sink, or on the ground if you have to.

It's never ok to drink an IPA.

IPAs and stouts are all I really like, outside of occasional wandering. Life’s too short to drink (and work off the calories from) beer you don’t like. But I’m conscious that my tastes label me in a certain way and I find that a little bit annoying.
    focus.

It took just a couple weeks to potty train the boy.....

How long before he figures out how to aim correctly?

It's been a few years. I'm beginning to think he doesn't care.

He may be aiming perfectly. The question is what is he aiming at?

Aiming to piss my wife off apparently.

Maybe I should buy some targets. But then that might move this to "things that amuse me".

    It's windy over there.

Actually most of the ones I see aren't turning regardless of how windy it is, I'm beginning to think they're fake.
