Try this. Using car fax seems to pull up most of the Car buying treads

I do find it annoying that my wife can't research her own damn car.

Tech Talk was the one I was thinking about. Thanks.

I'm looking at mid size vs compact SUV. Looking more at "sporty" driving performance vs. Off roading. Won't be taking it off unpaved forest roads and have a bigger SUV for full family. Luckily I have awhile before my current car dies before I have to worry about it.

Already went to the ENT and he used his big special scope to check it out and told me come back in a few weeks.

Just want to know if anyone else experienced it. I've heard stories from it healed itself and no long term issues to still suffering from hearing loss and raging tinnitus years later. Its been about two weeks and still no hearing in my ear. Just ringing. The last 10 days were painful but the swelling seems to be going down. Anyone else?
Blew my eardrum in Santa Cruz landing my head on a surfboard going over the falls on a head high day in 2005. I definitely appreciate stereo sound after having no hearing in one ear for several weeks. Make sure to get a check up. When I went in to ear specialist he said I had an ear infection that was slowing the healing process. I used antibiotic ear drops and my ear healed great. My follow up hearing test was about 97% hearing for the healed ear compared to my good ear.

on TGR, not buying a station wagon and not buying a 10+ year old car and buying a boring suv qualifies as annoying, no?

heh, yeah. I find the 'which four door pickup when I actually need a car and a minivan?' threads annoying, but c'est la vie.

I am not really into AWD compact and mid size. But, I have know several people of the years who have had Mitsubishi SUV's and AWD sedans. They all were very happy. They say they kill it in the snow and ice. Sporty. And also took them on dirt roads. No complaint's

I’m thinking about Audi Q series along those lines. Anyone?

    Got a 4Runner for dirt.

I mean the Q5 and Q7 are nice, they drive well and they're nice inside. Get the supercharged V6 if you get one, big difference. There's all kinds of well-proven tuning options for that engine that won't break the bank and won't break the car. My wife had a '13 Q5, she just traded it in with 147K on it. Not a lick of trouble from that thing, literally nothing ever went wrong with it. I thought she should keep it but after 8 years she just wanted a change.

I’m planning to do a Q5 vs. SQ5 test drive in the near future.

That 3.0 is the difference maker, my wife's had it, hers was a Q5 but somebody had ordered it with all the good stuff to basically get an SQ5 while saving a few bucks, but then he bailed, so she was able to swing a strong deal on it. Honestly that car was great except there's not a ton of room in the back in Q5 but if you need it the Q7 is basically the same vehicle stretched.

I haven’t seen a 3.0 Q5, and I lack the patience I’d need with dealers to try and order one.

Well see what you think. The 2.0 turbocharged is peppy around town, it's not like it's a pig. But to me it definitely lacks grunt and top end. A lot of people have said the 3.0 is the best engine Audi has ever made, why they're moving to a turbocharged version (maybe they already did on the Q5? Not sure) is beyond me, but I'm a big fan of supercharged power over turbo.

If you test drive a 2.0 and like it stop there. We drove a 3.0 A6 after a 2.0, and there is no going back. The 3.0 flies.

Well if you want to justify the 3.0 the supercharger is made by Eaton in the good ol' USA so you can tell yourself you're buying 'Murikan. Sorta.

You sent me down a rabbit hole by mentioning the supercharger. I wasn’t really aware that Audi did that. Thanks...I guess.

I don't think there's a wrong answer, you'll figure out if it's worth the money to you, good luck with it.

So, question. I just got a replacement credit card in the mail. In the past I would take scissors and cut the old one up and pitch it. But the old card this time is metal, I can't just cut it up. What should I do with it, just pitch it?

Have a Dremel? Or a backyard fire pit? I would go with either of those two options.
