Why does everyone talk about whether pronouns are male, female, or gender neutral but no one talks about whether they're singular or plural?

    "Hit the ground running"

No, if you hit the ground you typically stop whatever motion brought you there, and you most certainly aren't running unless you are Wyle E. Coyote.

    Why do people say this?

Oh come on BMills you are better than this. When you jump out of the train you either hit the ground standing still, in which case you somersault into a painful dead stop, or you hit the ground running, maintain momentum and you don’t fall over.

    Do better.

It can't be 'Back East' if I didn't come from the east originally. And "Down East' makes no sense to this hinterlander, and it's a womens clothing store I think.

    Nope.
Travelling to the east end of Long Island is going "out east".

And living on the east end, and travelling west, is going "up island".

OK, this has been bugging me: exhausted means tired, right? What does hausted mean? Does that mean I'm gas up and ready to go? It's beena stupid joke of mine for awhile.

Well, I looked it up (word origin n shit.) Hausted means to drink in. Exhausted means empty, or used up. So exhausted means to be empty - or have no more fluid in it, used up. So when you are exhausted you can say - "hey man, I'm exhausted. I need a beer." and it's exactly dead on, word meaning-wise. Go haust that beer, man.

Edit: I realize now that this isn't a question. Never mind me, carry on.
