The Oklahoma Republican Party faced fierce criticism on Friday for a Facebook post likening COVID-19 vaccine mandates to the persecution of Jewish people in Nazi Germany.

The post on the party’s official Facebook page urged people to call the lieutenant governor and ask him to call a special session to prohibit employers from requiring their employees to get vaccinated. It featured a picture of a yellow Star of David with the word “unvaccinated” on it and said: “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.”

When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

Let's go to make-believe world and pretend (against all convincing evidence to the contrary) that yall are right about everything; all those doctors and scientists are a bunch of dipshits. Let's say that masks do absolutely nothing to slow the spread of the virus, that COVID isn't as bad as "the media" claims it is, and that natural immunity is superior to vaccination.

Assuming all that is true: what do you see as the downside to choosing to wear a mask? What is the downside to choosing to get the vaccine? I'm not trying to change yalls minds about anything, I'm just trying to figure out what the fuck yall are so concerned about?

    You misread my post.

ED staff are burning out. These days mostly from dumbshits with sniffles. Understaffed and overwhelmed. And press gainey. And other metrics. Gotta give the drug addict percoset, otherwise you get a bad score.

ICU staff are nowhere near the burnout rate of ED. In ICU, they keep a strict nurse to patient ratio. Not a bad thing. Strong union.

The candlestick meme was something I found a few days ago. Shared it with the eight ED docs I know irl. Added it for humor. Sorry if it went over your head, it didn’t kill him but it nearly rectum.

I don’t know what the fuck ED burnout has to do with COVID vaccines as ED burnout was a pre-COVID phenomenon that was well known and advertised to anyone entering that residency pipeline.

A few pages back someone said ED was burining out due to rona.

In most areas it’s the opposite. Burning out due to stupid people. And PCs not seeing anyone with flu symptoms. Piling them all into the ED.
But whatevs. Good luck with those wait times when you actually need care.

I corrected all your bullshit in my earlier post. But it’s funny and embarrassing to watch you try to talk shop with Tri-Ungulate.

And yes, it can be a zero sum game in a sense as some cancer patient with non-COVID19 sepsis who cannot get an ICU bed because they're all filled up with dumbfuckistan freedumbz lozers can die unnecessarily.

Not to mention the costs. The interventions ain't cheap, as you can imagine. Tocilizumab, remdesivir, round-the-clock-nursing and monitoring, you name it, it tallies up amazingly. Stupid shits don't care whether it's paid by insurance or Medicaid (which an increasing number of younger vax- and facemask-deniers are relying on, at least IME) but we all pay.

We all pay societally. Ironic for the Rand fucking Paul "don't socialize me bro" crowd. Joke is on us all.

Not to mention the burnout of hospital staff, including highly trained and motivated critical care nursing.

So yeah, fuck you ronjon and fuck you Core Shit. Really, go fuck yourselves with a sharpened 2x4.

Burning out due to stupid people like yourself, sure. Absofuckingloutely. Stupid motherfuckers who can’t be bothered to wear a mask or get vaccinated because freedumbz.

One of the reasons I’m so pissed off these days is ‘cuz Im seeing the COVID19 resurgence after we thought we were through the bad times with the advent of highly effective and safe vaccination. I know for a fact that I’m not alone in this. I see COVID19-fatigue related burnout at work everyday.

And do tell, Mr. fucking know-it-all, with your insider's disdain of Press-Ganey metrics, and the eight ER docs you know, let’s hear about your vast experience in the ED and ICU, other than as a patient with a jart shoved up his ass “honest, I don’t know how it got there”

I put that guy on ignore. This thread has lots of rock-solid knowledge from people like mofro (and others), but this thread was becoming unreadable. That’s sad, because I have friends who have skied with him and say he is a great guy IRL. But he adds nothing to this thread. It is dramatically easier to read without him.

Do you talk to all those nurses and doctors like you know more than them? Because that’s exactly what you’re doing in here. Embarrassing.

Ok, I must point out your ignorance, this is getting tiresome. ED and ICU nurses are in the same union, usually the state nurses association. ED nurses aren’t burnt out from patients with the sniffles. They’re burnt out because of the volume of patients with all kinds of problems, this last year it was because of COVID, just like ICU nurses. How do I know this? I work with these people and talk to them on a daily basis, both professionally and socially.

    Keep talking out your ass.

Most nurses aren't in unions. When they are in unions, the same union covers the ER and ICU for a hospital. I've been in a nursing union. I'm not in one now.

I still practice in ICU despite my other professional position.

I am friends with, colleagues with, and communicate with far more ICU nurses across many more states than you, Core Shot. And also ER nurses. Enough to call your bullshit easily. Stop trying to represent nurses, Core Shot. You are not a nurse, not even a hospital worker or healthcare colleague.

Failed lawyer now slumlord mansplains nursing and ER medicine and immunology…

Maybe you can get practicing privileges at your wife’s hospital - just tell em you know 8 ER docs and they’ll be suitably impressed.

You can't figure out why someone wouldn't want to wear a mask? They are uncomfortable and a nuisance while providing no benefit. Sorry for being a human and not wanting to live in some dystopian world where everyone's faces are covered. We are going to have babies that have never seen a human face other than their parents for 2+ years. I wonder what the consequences of that might be?

It really is amazing how people can't figure out why someone might not want the vaccine. I'm in my 30's and in good health. I haven't had so much as a sore throat or cough in 20 years. COVID is basically the flu for people my age. I see no reason to take a new type of vaccine that has no long term data with a very real side effect profile. It's also looking like you are going to have to take a booster every 6-12 months. No thanks.
