I don't think walmart cares what state you live in. Whether a particular walmart has moderna is unknown, it varies by location. Also, the system doesn't much seem to be geared for what you want, but it can happen. My wife just got moderna #2 from a Walmart near here, but had gotten #1 in Cheyenne. But she had to talk to a pharmacy tech and convince him (and because appointments are still scarce, had to get a cancellation, but that may not be an issue in Junction).

My cousin and her husband were both anti-covid vaccine. They and their kids all were vaccinated but they were anti-covid vaccines. Then he got covid and brought it home to his wife. He was super sick, almost went to hospital, and is looking like a long hauler. He recently got the vaccine to hopefully combat the long haul symptoms. He runs a plumbing crew in a prison, so he was eligible a long time ago. To his credit he has changed his views and tells people to get the vaccine now.

I do think this is going to happen to a lot of anti-vaxers. This disease is prevalent enough and will stay around enough that wayyy more of them are going to suffer this disease than the other vaccinated against diseases (except maybe the flu over a long time). Maybe it helps to end this terrible meme in the developed world. Maybe it will take out some flat earthers too.

Johnson & Johnson said it would delay the rollout of its vaccine in Europe, where several countries were poised to start administering it this week. South Africa, devastated by a more contagious variant of the virus that emerged there, also suspended use of the vaccine. Australia announced it would not purchase any doses.

This should lend some sort of evidence that the problem with the J&J vaccine may be even bigger than what's being reported.

Fact: I know 1 young lady who suffered a stroke recently, the day after getting the shot. Some of you here might actually know her IRL. That officially makes it that I know 1 more person that suffered a stroke from the vaccine (1) than people I know first hand who died of COVID (0). And just like we're hearing about those being of higher risk for these side effects, she was young and female. Just for the record, I am NOT saying that people aren't dying of COVID, or not to get your shot. Just saying that between the news and actually knowing someone who had a stroke, it's enough for me to at least take pause on the J&J version. That's all.

I still would like to see full FDA approval of the vaccines before they start making them mandatory every where. Then there could be no argument about not getting it. I know...private business, they can do what they want, capitalism/freedom goes both ways, blah blah blah. The responses from the collective are predictable. Yes, I went and got my chip. Hopefully they have easily available and cheap scanners soon for getting into events. Can you imagine the line at security? Also, the vax cards would be super easy to fake.

The Vaccine Clinic run by Mesa County Public Health at the GJ Convention Center is probably your easiest option. You can sign up and tell them you need a 2nd dose of a certain vaccine. Its a real slick operation, they are cranking a ton of folks through there.

Did you see Mofro's post on this topic? Because it lays out why what you're waiting for may never materialize.

Meaning, none of the vaccines approved under EUA will convert to NON-EUA approval because of more or further completed data analysis, the phase I/II And III trials reached end points for safety and efficacy prior to being granted EUA. It is just a fact that they will need to seek a traditonal 510K approval with re-submission of the same data, to continue there use in the absence of a declared emergency which for COVID-19 we have no defined end yet on the horizon. What I'm saying is if you are waiting for "full" FDA approval, then be prepared to wait a really long fucking time.

Next- the JJ vaccine. Is not RNA.

Nope, it's a double stranded DNA replication incompetent adenovirus with the Sars2 Spike gene inserted into it, which needs to get to the nucleus where that DNA is transcribed into RNA which then gets transported back to the cytoplasm for generation of the SCoV2 Spike protein. So if long term complication mean "does this genetic material inegrate into my chromosomes" the chance of that happening for RNA are zero and for DNA lets just leave it at, potentially more than zero.

Regardless, both platforms have been explored by vaccinologists in animals and in some cases people for diseases like TB, malaria, HIV, and then Ebola, Zika, etc since the early 2000's. None has made it into the vaccine stream as yet under non-EUA, but outside of Pneumococcal and HPV there haven't been any/many other new vaccines approved in the time frame with standard FDA approval.

There was a story in the Seattle Times a day or two ago about the governor rolling back three counties to phase 2 due to increases in cases. The comments were predictable. One I particularly enjoyed was someone saying that studies have shown that the virus is spread in the home, so why do we need restrictions on businesses? Someone's reply was "how do you think it got to these homes in the first place? Meteorites?"

Here in Oregon they have this wild concept where they schedule your second shot before you walk out after getting your first shot.

That you have to get in line or search for your second shot is baffling.

What color paint chips did you prefer as a child? Did you eat full bowls of them with milk?

The reason for the "pause" is so doctors can get up to speed on the best treatments for the extremely rare clotting issues. That's it.

That is how W2's mass clinic is set up. You scan a QR code before you leave and away you go. You can't even sign up for the 2nd dose clinics online though I think you could call if you need to and you can certainly sign up for a first dose clinic to get your 2nd. We've had this happen a couple of times when people have missed their scheduled 2nd appt. W2 seems to be working hard to make getting a jab as easy as possible.

Anybody in NE OR/SE WA looking for a jab (I know this is past the date but I have a feeling they may by offering more so stay tuned if interested):

CTUIR now vaccinating all residents of 11 counties in Oregon and Washington

MISSION — With more doses than appointments, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation is once again expanding its eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine.

In a Monday, April 12, press release, the Tribes announced its two-day vaccine clinic on April 12 and Tuesday, April 13, at Wildhorse Resort & Casino would be open to the 11 counties that span the CTUIR’s ceded territory.

In Oregon, all residents 16 years old and older that live in Umatilla, Morrow, Union, Baker, Wallowa, Grant and Malheur counties are eligible for the vaccine. In Washington, the new rules apply to Benton, Walla Walla, Columbia and Garfield counties.

The CDC director explained that the reason for the pause was to allow the experts to go over all the available data, call for doctors to report additional cases, and alert doctors about how to diagnose and treat post vaccine blood clots--specifically not to use heparin. (The patient who died received heparin.) It sounds as if they will recommend J and J be resumed fairly quickly unless a bunch more cases turn up. There will still be the manufacturing issues to deal with.
It was predicted before the first injection was given that the vaccine program would proceed in fits and starts, with glitches and complications being inevitable. I don't know why people (ie the news media) act so surprised when it happens.

Guess it's been too long since Jonas rolled out his vaccine. Still... it's understandable that people are cautious/fearful. I will admit to some trepidation (precisely because I remember what happened with the 1st generation of polio vaccine).
