Thanks. Yes, thought about getting the same vax. She was able to reschedule so we're good.. All's well.

Same typical anti cyclist stuff, boils down to that they’re less human so they deserve to get run over, bc some run stop signs. My favorite is they don’t pay road taxes so shouldn’t be on the road. It’s a comic so NBD in grand scheme, regardless propagating the ideas mentioned.

Wow. This is just pathetic. Roadies are a protected class? GFYS.

Got my first Pfizer poke yesterday morning and have felt great since. No soreness, no fatigue, in fact, I feel better than I have in weeks.

I never said protected class, but people are being killed regularly with zero consequences. Easiest way to murder someone is hit them with your car, nearly guaranteed no charges filed. And I'll return the GFYS too.

Looking better and better for even single dose

"This suggests a four-fold decrease in the risk of asymptomatic COVID-19 infection amongst healthcare workers who have been vaccinated for more than 12 days, and 75% protection, said Mike Weekes, an infectious disease specialist at Cambridge University’s department of medicine, who co-led the study."

I disagree with the Joyce thing. When we read Ulysses in college the professor read a couple of pages out loud and it made perfect sense. Unfortunately those were the only pages that I understood, but it was pretty cool the way that worked.

Almost all of them. And some require 3--like Hep B. Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) every 10 years. Pneumococcus and shingles are one time, until they come up with a new version and then you have to get another one.

FWIW, while a lot of people have side effects after dose 2, neither of my kids had any symptoms. Hoping the same applies to my wife and I.

the symptoms I have heard described don't seem to be any worse than the effects of a weekend bender ski trip with garyfromterrace

Second shot received two days ago during the evening.

Yesterday: Slept most of the day. Extreme headache that drugs couldn’t touch. I’d say it’s the worst headache I’ve experienced. Like scream in agony except it’d hurt too much. Lasted for about 10 hours. Fever and chills throughout the day and last night.

Mild fatigue so far today. I haven’t tested the fatigue yet, ie gone on a walk.

I have friends in the 40’s that had no side effects. One of them had covid, too.

My sister got her first shot Monday. Bad nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea that night. Those don't seem to be typical side effects. Has anyone else experienced that? She was fine the next day other than a sore arm.

Was she nervous about getting the shot? Maybe psyched herself out a bit? These things happen.

Out of curiosity...how many other vaccinations have similar side effects to what we are seeing with COVID, in both nature and intensity?

Other then the flu shot, I don't remember many of my vaccinations from when I was younger, but I can't remember any of them giving me a 10 hour headache, vomiting, or diarrhea...mainly just soreness at the sight of injection.

I received Moderna #2 on Tuesday morning and felt fine all day. Woke up around 2:00 am shivering, then super hot with low fever (100), achy, and head felt foggy. Effects lingered all day on Wednesday. Woke up Thursday feeling back to normal. Coworkers had very similar stories to tell.

I have a very bad reaction to tetnus shots. Usually end up spending a day in bed close to tears.

Everybody's immune system is unique, like a fingerprint. The “common” side effects are in line with other vaccines for the first dose. Side effects are more common after the second dose for both Pfizer and Moderna. Even then, only about 1 out of 4 are experiencing day long moderate arm pain or fatigue or headache. For most people the side effects are short lived. There are no reports of long-term side effects.

It could be a coincidence. Maybe a case of mild food poisoning occurred at the same time as the shot, not because of the shot.

Shingles vax can hurt like a bitch for a couple of days. 2nd dose was worse.

Just got an appointment for Thursday to get my 1st poke. A marriage saver if it works or not.

That's different. Last summer I had a very nasty reaction to stepping on an old board with a rusty nail sticking up. Went through my flip flops and came out the top of my foot. Going to CVS for the shot was a no-brainer

One day after my Pfizer shot I've had very few side effects. Slightly sore arm. I was tired when I went to bed last night, but it had also been a long day. I'll see how shot 2 is in a few weeks.

Neither of my parents had any side effects from either their first or second round shots. My dad got the Moderna, my mom got the Pfizer. Sounds like a lot of you need to harden the fuck up and get stuck.

Also, I would love a "Harden the fuck up and get stuck," or "Shut the fuck up and get stuck" bumper sticker/button. I would wear that shit EVERYWHERE.

Your parents would never lie to their little boy I'm sure. My mom was in the hospital for 2 days with broken ribs from a car crash before someone called her kids to tell them because mom didn't want to upset us.

This is what I was thinking. Fever, headache, chills seem to be more common. She wasn’t nervous, more like ecstatic to be getting it.

I think side effects are pretty much a luck of the draw thing as far as we can tell. My parents both were sore/wiped/headachey. My surviving grandparents (who are OLD and in less good health than my parents) apparently had very few. Though maybe if you're my 97 year old grandpa, you just feel like shit all the time so you don't really notice a few extra aches and pains.
