    Whattaya mean "we" white man??

Having said that, I'm SO happy to see the start of the "personal responsibility" culture having to actually bear the costs ($$$ and life/death) of their covid choices. I would be even more happy to see it go beyond copays tho, or OOP max. You refuse the vax, you pay for the whole ordeal out of pocket. Sell your house, go bankrupt, I give zero/negative fucks.

Isn't it amazing how close personal responsibility and selfish asshole are? Like love and hate. You're only a couple seconds away from the other side.

Theyre red states but the trend is there and the transmossion vector numbers are expanding. Youll have to look up decembers numbers to confirm theyre close

Right but those are new infections...it doesn't say that they are among a younger healthier crew than last winter but they are because old people who are extremely vulnerable and most likely to be icu patients have been mostly vaccinated except in the most backwoods backassward strongholds.

I think there is a lesson there somewhere. The power of sectarianism and extreme partisanship has its limits somewhere on the reality vs plausible deniability line graph.

Wouldnt the variant be spreading faster and more deadly to a wider range of people? I see one state has several children in icu because of it.Could this signal a bigger problem, than in december , in those states affected ?

Refuse available vaccine and get covid and you deserve every consequence. IMO that should include disqualification from health insurance, life insurance, medicare, etc. Die at home or go bankrupt for hospitalization:

Was wondering kinda same thing. Like "what if" this WAS the experiment or weapon? How fast can we get a virus to mutate and avoid being destroyed? Make "THE" super bug.

The superbug was when they took h5n1 and made it transmissible in ferrets. https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2019...-poised-resume

H5n1 has a fatality rate of over 60%.

But yea, COVID was released from a lab is a prominent conspiracy theory. If so, good thing they didn’t release the delta variant.

I've mentioned before that the insertion PRRA was suboptimal, and not something as I scientist I would have settled on given the knowledge previously available about polybasic cleavage sites. Natural evolution agrees me with here.

That's good. Next step... For people who fallen down the rathole of false arguments, how do we get them out? Considering a family member here - it seems much like an addicted friend. Their circle of friends supports the addiction, so any help out I can offer is quickly countered and they fall back in the trap. Put differently, they rejoin their social support group and its misinformation (the addiction).

The science path also comes with often not knowing, not knowing yet, or worse knowing we'll never know. In addition, science requires yielding power and control to whichever specialists have the required education and background to pursue answers. In contrast, the grifters and liars are free to make shit up, be certain about it, and give individuals the choice/control to ignore science and TPTB.

Are you getting the one where the lady mispronounces "normalcy?" Drives me bonkers.

Haven't been paying that close of attention. Will have to watch for it.

Can we also recognize that leaving the unvaxxed to their own misguided future represents a huge potential financial liability for society. ER's, ventilators and therapeutics are unbelievably expensive and it would be wrong to assume that each patient pays their own way or has sufficient insurance coverage.

Now you are intentionally eroding the point.

Dont get vaxxed = dont get insured for the hospitalization costs.

If you start adding lifestyle choices then the consequence would be so broad that it wont have the desired incentive.

Agreed. And for the record I am very pro-vax. It still poses interesting questions regarding where we draw the line for compelling certain behaviors. Especially if we are using the "dollar cost to the public" argument.

All pronunciations of the word "normalcy" in this context are wrong (a malapropism). It's been pissing me off for 16 months and counting.
