Heh, sideways. Well, you get the picture. I'll also consider checking into the "learning as an adult" thread, as I was given my first bass as a 30th birthday present. I played the trumpet as a kid for about 6 years, so I had some music theory and playing background, but learning a stringed instrument was totally different!

Rad - I have the exact same PJ and a very similar looking (maple n ash) but 4 string jazz. So let's just say you have good taste in instruments

These are the “cold dead hands” instruments that someone will inherit someday down the road.

Guild F20 “Troubadour” built in Hoboken 1967. Such a pleasant guitar for picking on the couch. It’s also fantastic in the studio when a real guitarist is playing it.

Fender AVRI ‘57 Precision. I’ve had this one for 10 years. It’s the most killer classic Motown p-bass sound I can imagine and I’ve a/b’d it with a vintage ‘57 re-fin (that I still couldn’t afford.) I’ve played countless gigs with this one.

Mike Lull MV5 Jazz Bass. I’ve owned a few other Lulls but sold them because they didn’t fit my gigs when my wife was in grad school and finances were tight. I bought this one used a few years ago and had Mike set it up for me shortly before his death.

It’s 1996. Ordered from a shop in West Chester PA, took Gibson a while to fit a lefty into the schedule.

Sweet Jesus. I hope you are a touring pro. Cause if you aren’t you are justifying me buying more guitars. Which is bad.

So they still hadn't figured out how to keep the chrome on in 96? (newest LP I've owned is '80)

Far from it. Just been at it for a couple years..... Can't have too many guitars and amps, right? Kinda like skis....

Goddamn it. This is not good for my bank account.

I have a friend that actually is a touring guitar player in a pretty big band, and you may have more guitars than he does. You may need to seek help.

    SPAMALERT!

Anyone looking for a ‘beginner’ guitar?
(I was using it as a travel/camping guitar)
I have a Fender ‘starcaster’ telecaster, really cheap.
    Like, $140?
    It plays beautifully, low/easy action.
    Sounds great through an amp.
Can deliver to Colorado/SLC, in all likelihood.
    Otherwise maybe $40 shipping?

You sir, are an enabler! Now just stop it, before I have as many guitars as I have skis, and I have to put my son out on the street so i can have his bedroom for my guitars!

Seriously though, I've had the fear recently that my guitar habit will become like my ski habit. I've bought two guitars in the past six months. I also fixed up the two that I already had. I was looking at guitars just before posting this......

Just got a Baby Taylor traveling acoustic. I have to say it's actually the nicest playing guitar I've ever owned. The action is fantastic and it's really a rich sound for a small guitar. Highly recommend if you're looking for something to take camping, etc.

I am a terrible player but omg this amp will instantly get your woman pregnant.

Also have two acoustics, some cheap Yamaha and a really cool but valueless Sears store brand acoustic from the 60s that belonged to my sister-in-law's grandpa.
