Was with a couple big time boosters for The Ohio State University this weekend and they seemed hell bent on Jay to Columbus. I said, no way he wants to jump back in at a football first school.

The bracket does not respect anyone.

X has played to exactly where I thought they would, anything past the Sweet 16 is pure gravy.

Kind of amazed Cooley took that job. I don't see what it gets him except maybe more money and he was making $3.5 at Providence and Georgetown isn't made of money by any means.

I mean, Cooley's a Providence native, he's built something there, the fans are into it, it doesn''t make much sense to me at all. Even when Georgtown was at its best fan support was spotty, you could always get a ticket. It was always rough going to big games because half the crowd would be from Villanova or St. John's or whatever.

I mean, good luck to him and go Hoyas, but if he had asked me I would've told him he was better off where he was.

Interesting, I had no idea he was a Providence native. Maybe he likes a challenge?

I guess. Georgetown has some significance to a lot of Black America because of Thompson and the teams he fielded and the way they won with no apologies and he may feel like it's a challenge and maybe an honor to try to fill those shoes and I wouldn't say those are bad reasons by any means. But it's not gonna be an easy road and he's not a young man. I wish him well and hope it works. It's gotta be better than Patrick.

I’ll be surprised if they do, but they looked pretty good last night. They can be very streaky with their offense though. Will have to see which team, good horns, or bad horns shows up tomorrow against Miami.

    FIFY

Early calls in a game can impact the way it is played the rest of the way.
Those two charging calls on X were so bad even the TV announcers were questioning them.
Clearly should have been blocking fouls on Texas.

Arkansas had no chance vs UConn after their big (Johnson) picked up two early fouls and
    had to sit.

Can't say either game would have ended differently, but .... would have been a different game.

Gonzaga is going to be a tough match up for UConn I think. Timmie will be the first top tier
big man that they will have seen so far. He knows how to score down low. Not a good defensive
    player though.
Prediction ? Timmie gets his 30+. Rest of the team gets 30. Sanogo and Hawkins
combine for 36. Rest of the team gets 30+. UConn wins.
So far this year UConn has won every non conference game by double digits.

Go Big East ! Go Huskies !

Well, the good shooting horns showed up in the first half… hats off to the canes.

    the official college basketball thread

Perfect opportunity for Zaga to finally win it but blew it.
Texass with the blown lead and choked up the game.
No teams from the Big Ten or SEC in the Final 4.
Down year for ACC and still got a team in.
UConn will likely win it with the easiest road ever.
    What a fucked up tourney.

Alright, I'm happy, don't care who wins now that Texas is out. It'd be cool for a never-ever to win, I like underdogs. UConn is definitely not an underdog in the grand scheme of things, but I'd still be happy for them.

Well, at least ONE of my teams made it to the National Championship. My daughter, and my money went to SDSU. Go Aztecs!

Although it looks like their gonna get slaughtered.

Man the officiating in the women's game was brutal. I had no dog in the fight but it seemed very unfair to Iowa from where I was sitting. But also just generally bad.

Pretty unbelievable. The T against Clark was a travesty. Especially considering the weirdo LSU coach was basically on the court the entire game and having fits.

The fix was in. Granted LSU shot lights out the first half, but that foul trouble really stymied Iowa and ended any real comeback.

    What a great tournament.
Nice to see some parity and other teams showcasing their game.
Names don't win games. Players do.
Zags had no defense and were lucky to get that far.
Were completely shut down and exposed.
Seedings only get you so far.
Got to win the games you play. Step up or shut up.
