    Tiling skis

I have some leftover subway tile and glass mosaic from my bathroom project and was thinking I'd tile my skis. I like the look.

Obviously need a grout and thinset that is somewhat flexible. So I'm thinking epoxy all the way...fastfred?

For those who have done this, what does this do to performance?

Are the tiles red? Adding red tiles will improve performance

Probably need some ski saver tape on top of them once you are finished also.

Or just take a photo of your tiled wall and get a vinyl graphic overlay printed up for the same effect as literally gluing tile on the top of your skis.

Don't forget super tight stretch pants, Sx90's and bandana to round out the look

    Tiling skis

I’d tile the bases too to even out the weight distribution and not make them so top heavy....they’re gonna be the ultimate crud busters.....if you can lift them out of your truck.....lol.

Is this "tilling" of skies some new thing for base structure work? Seems like it might be a tad aggressive of a tool, but go ahead and give'r!

someone got too much time on there hands bro
were you the one who posted about the wife wanting them to get a hobby? looks like you found it?
I'd make sure to sand the top sheet pretty well before installing the tile if you can just remove the top sheet for best sticking power
poly seam seal would be the best for this application, alittle dab and stick her on, maybe a fusion pro grout?
I can only imagine the craft fair circuit you'll get on when you start to sell your tiled skies, all the chubby crafty moms will be flocking to your booth every fare is going to be like a shmograsboard of pork chops looking for your manhood

Please go pro day one..I envision pieces of tile flying everywhere hitting not only you, but other skiers/boarders.

    Hilarity shall ensue.

Maybe I’ll go the other way and make a shower wall out of old skis.

I'd recommend flattened bottle caps from your favorite craft brews under a couple dozen layers of polyurethane. Maybe with some classy looking cigar rings thrown in.

I asked fastfred because he does serious construction work. When I want advice on shoddy half-assed VT slopeside condo rehabs with T1-11 siding I'll pm you.

Can't be any heavier than 192 Devastators with demo bindings.

how you going to keep the vampires away?

and i'll offer you a job too, vermont wages for colorado work? $10.05 an hr keep the nickel there is always at least an ounce in the fridge at the office I only have three employees tiling could use a fourth to keep up with the demand a talent like you shouldn't go to waist on skis and craft fairs curbless showers 2x4 large format tile 200 sq ft bathrooms you'll up your game no more smashed glass shards in your life and occasional subway tile but that shit is on its way out brushed gold is in pretend all you know is spanish and don't talk to the customers thats my job

Thanks fred. Noted. I only got into the bathroom remodel biz because I was getting $1,000/sq ft quotes to do the job. VT is primarily a preformed acrylic shower region. They're fine, never leak, and you just need an afternoon, a few tubes of adhesive, and a caulk gun to install. So maybe that's where the $10.05 is coming from?

This brushed gold trend sounds interesting.
