Peanut butter. Sparingly applied.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Can't believe goof off + elbow grease doesn't work.
In stubborn cases, I have taken a piece of a rag and saturated with goof off and left it sitting on the residue to 'soak' for a while, and it loosened up.
Any chance what's left isn't gorilla tape residue per se, but some kind of marring left on the sealer/finish of the carbon?north bound horse.

Say, why are you taping your carbon rims?

Hair dryer or heat gun. Heat slowly should peel right off.

I used mineral spirits to remove the Gorilla residue on my rims, then cleaned them with alcohol to remove the mineral spirits residue.

The Methylene Chloride I ordered is like that stuff on steroids.

I successfully used a mixture of stuff that included the orange degreaser and Simple Green. I should have kept better notes, but I believe soaking it with SG helped the most--what I can't remember for sure is whether I hit it with brake cleaner, WD40 and/or PB Blaster beforehand. All three were definitely considered. The final rinse was isopropyl alcohol, but it did nothing to soften the chunks. Good luck--and let us know what finally works!

Wallpaper stripper works well on tape residue. Never tried it on a carbon rim.
Have you tried a scotchbrite pad? - probably standard green would do it.

I use Marine Debonder at work on my boats when nothing else will touch adhesive or sealants. It is the only thing that will remove 3M 4200 adhesives once cured.

OK, Armchair Chemists...Gorilla Glue Residue?
If you taped them yourself = you deserve it.
If a shop taped them = go back to the shop and tell them to go fuck themselves.
Not trying to start the old debate, but I believe that gorilla tape does not belong anywhere on a bike.
