105ish, Fun, Daily Driver

Thoughts on fun, playful, poppy daily drivers for mostly West coast?
Have 3 pairs of skis that leave train tracks through crud, ice, chop, etc...but missing a fun, soft snow driver that'll pop over shit even if leg day is skipped. no flat tails.

Loved the 1st edition Goat, but haven't had anything similar.
And have the Enforcer 104free about to be mounted, will that fill the blanks?
This discussed ad nauseam already? sorry.

Blaze is a -12cm mount??

For my 105 DD I have a 2020 Enforcer 104 Free and a 2020 Salomon QST 106. Both at -6.25cm. Thinking the newer QST a bit damper than before so likely similar to the 104.

Haven’t skied either yet as they were summer purchases after last season closed.

Faction Candide 3.0?

I also have Candide 5.0s.....and ski those a lot.

Enforcer will probably push crud and a few inches of heavy snow pretty well. Don't know if it's poppy.
If you already have that, but you need more, go for a powder day ski. Like a Bent Chetler or something.

Pick one. None of them are bad. Seriously, this is the most dialed range across almost all brand's offereings. Just don't get something clearly marketed against your needs, but there are very few ~104-108mm skis out there I woudn't enjoy skiing every day.

Have the Enforcer 104 and it’s pretty playful and easy to pivot especially with the mount plus 1cm or 2.

Like many new skis, Enforcers are commonly edge high on the bases so check the flatness before getting the bindings mounted so the shop can stone grind them flat if they aren’t.

Is the mount on the blaze really that far back? Was interested in them with a tech binder but if they’re designed with such a rear mount it makes me think twice. Just moved my qst 106 forward 1.5 of the line and they’re awesome there. So I’d need to mount the blaze 7.25+ for similar feel?

I measured the Blaze 94 and Blaze 106 myself in the local shop.

Three mount lines:
-11cm, -12cm and -13cm.

Blister says rec is -12cm.

Stoopid.

I mounted my QSTs at +2.5cm.

i chose origin 106 for this slot. light-ish, more directional, and biased to soft snow. no metal. can tell you in a few weeks if it was a good choice.

Enforcer 104 Free is a great ski, but I wouldn't call it "poppy," more like silky and composed. Super versatile, though, and easy to turn with any technique at any speed. Atris might be more what you're looking for.

Yeah, I feel like there are way more playful skis in this category than the Woodsman or the Enforcer 104 or the Blaze 106.

But therein lies the bigger question: what is “playful and poppy” to you?

Are you looking for a ski that encourages you to ski switch and spin off natural features? Are you looking for a ski that you can butter and nose press? Are you looking for a progressive mount point?

Or do you not care about any of that stuff but instead are just looking for a 100-105mm daily driver that is easier to ski and more forgiving of mistakes than the other hard charging skis in your quiver?
