workin' as a liftie
Just got a part-time gig as a liftie at my local hill. What should I be expecting?

Full-timers take pride in their "yard", and you part-timers will be expected to follow suit.

You'll be sad...b/c you'll see everyone skiing while you're standing taking shit from some dipshit who "paid a lot of money to be here!"
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

You’re gonna have more women than you can handle, and you’ll need some good investment strategies for all the money you’ll make.

My advice as a 1 year lift op.
Make it as fun for yourself as possible, the liftline will feed off your vibe.
I got laid way more as a lifty than a patroller.I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

You’re gonna be spending extended time just standing around in the fucking cold.
unless you’re shoveling, you will not be doing enough activity to keep yourself actually warm.
Bring heavier clothes than you would normally wear skiing.
good boots are key. Try to get a good winter boot with the thickest sole possible. you wanna try to insulate your foot from the ground as best you can.
Don’t wear any steel toed boots or any boots with steel shanks in them.
top shack is the goal.
