    Boone? Beech? Cataloochie?

Saw a guy, probably the same guy, wearing Pit Vipers and a full regulation Carhartt Racing Team setup bumping chairs to 80s hair metal at all three las season.

“Top Shack is the goal” should be this place’s new tag line. Excellent.

    Happy T-day Maggots.

If your ski area has a clue they will have kinkos available for cheap to employees. Keep those $600 mountaineering boots at home unless you want to be ridden like a $10 whore by the other liftees.

One season at a mid-size resort. Be aware that the below comments mean no disrespect to lifties, there are some great people doing that job.

    1. Don't work too hard, they'll put you in the most visible, stressful place (main lift at the lodge).

    2. Generally speaking, be lazy and do drugs at work, because if you work hard and are clean, you'll just be frustrated with (the vast majority of) your other coworkers that are lazy and do drugs at work, leaving all the shoveling, babysitting, and other hard/shitty work to you.

    3. Kiss ass to the lift ops supervisors and/or be pretty to get better ass-ignments.

You can see that I didn't have a great time my season. I'm sure others might be more suited to putting up with the common bullshit that floats around this type of job.

Where I worked, they asked Lifties not to wear mountaineering boots at all because they left postholes all over the place.
edit: which won’t be a problem where you are

Ha! All true but I’m on the other side of it. I always thought working a detachable looked boring as shit and sitting in top shack was like punishment to me. I was happy to be moved to the Weasel lift, an ancient Riblet, ‘cause it kept my head engaged. It required a very specific, precise bump to prevent chair swinging and attracted all kinds of customers from first-timers to experts. There were two loading stations too, which caused all kinds of chaos. It was also one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. When I retire, I may go back to it.

I have to disagree. My local mountain can have some cute lifties. But then, this IS Missoula.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Really? Really?? I never saw that at Snowbowl. Usually just got yelled at for not having my pass visible.

And Top Shack is indeed the goal!

Just returning the digs🤪. Moving electrons is always in demand. Anyway you could convince the pit viper bros to be bcc to the core? Was offered a sillytude job after helping to build the new high speed quads there but between the Deseelhorsts and the crazy GM stayed LCC to the core. 04-05 was awesome. If my memory serves me right Alta opened up with baldy and the castle open on opening day. Wet storm on Halloween coated the range with a nice base. Skied a few lines that winter that haven’t filled in since.

This has been my experience as well. Super nice lady at the bottom that peaked in 1989 with the same hair as her high school prom is what I recall.

Another prolific alpy conditions poster(who we don't talk about anymore) brought cinnamon rolls, so bring donuts if you gonna take the fatty unhealthy morning snack route.
