I picked up a '79 Blazer bodied Traxxas TRX4 from the classifieds the other day. Holy shit, it's tits. Between the two speed transfer case and selectable lockers, there's not much that'll stop it.
We took it out for it's maiden voyage this afternoon.
Did a thing with the remotes too.

I re-bodied the kid's Redcat Gen-7. I couldn't get behind the generic SUV shit. Bobbed Cherokee FTW.

Sweet. Lotta good stuff.
My brother was down a few weeks ago with his kraton and his axial scx10, and my boy was bonkers over the axial. He hounded me and hounded me for one. Finally I said, you have money, how much do you have? His maternal grand parents give him like $100 on various dates, bday, etc. He also gets a leetle big obcash from dad for making sure it's safe to walk around the yard. Well, he had enough for a new axial scx10 trail honcho. Thing is way fun. Totally different mindset. So between yourmom and my brother, I spread the blame on you guys.

It would be cool if they made a working winch. They probably do, this is not my realm, but it would make it more fun for sure.

Blame accepted. Get ready to hike. You've got a ton of good terrain up there behind Red Butte and the History Museum. I've been wanting to do a crawl up to the living room.
The SCX10 is a super capable platform. Great bang for the buck. You won't be disappointed. The only thing I didn't like about it was a lack of a power switch. I added one of these.

We hitched up the new trailer to the Blazer and took it for a rip with the Rover.
+1 for the tank
+1 for the fact that the Rover didn't break down.

I play with my kids' toys.
Thanks, the Mojave is an absolute blast, I would love to have your yard set up.
The 6s Typhon is my new obsession. It flat hauls ass,is super balanced in air and has the most amazing cartwheels when I crash it.

It's finally starting to green up on the trails. Sadly, this means the horse shit is thawing.

I considered getting my son an RC crawler for Christmas, but mom had already covered all the gifts. Now he wants one for his birthday.
I'm thinking this: Danchee Ridgerock
Danchee is apparently Redcat's budget line and it seems like it's the cheapest I can go while still having replaceable parts. I'm assuming that Redcat parts just fit, though, as I don't see Danchee specific replacement parts available.

I will take a look at those! I assumed that they were likely the same replacement parts, but looking at Redcat's site, while some parts work on both the Ridgerock and Everest 10, most are vehicle specific. I'm not really that worried about finding parts for either as I'd likely be ordering off Redcat's site either way, but if I ended up finding a hobby shop somewhere near me, it seems like they'd be much more likely to have Everest 10 parts in stock. I also had missed the difference in battery types.

The roof rack makes a good poo hauler for all these wankers who couldn't be bothered.
Last day of spring break for us.
