I'm honestly less concerned about someone putting a piece of art like that in the middle of nowhere than I am about the instagram culture of entitled douchebags that don't have a lick of backcountry etiquette.

No way. He's too much of a d-bag to do something that's actually intriguing. Acting like he's shitting in a lake is more his speed.

Americans don't care too much for beauty
they'll shit in a river, dump battery acid in a stream
They'll watch dead rats wash up on the beach
and complain if they can't swim

Is posting an advertisement for a propaganda website a ban-able offense? It sure should be.

Another sighting - this time in Joshua Tree

And a group is taking responsibility. The Most Famous Artist collective in Santa Fe has claimed the structures,
    https://www.foxnews.com/science/stun...them-for-45000
They now offer Monoliths As A Service
    https://www.themostfamousartist.com/maas

For $45000 you too can have your own monolith installed somewhere

It will be interesting to see if they are still claiming it is theirs once the BLM takes them to court.

ötzi - I don't think they did it for the money - Manny Mo has lots of it already. This is the guy who turned the Hollywood sign into Hollyweed.

Unicorn - I agree they should be held accountable for erecting that thing. How much work should BLM lawyers put into a misdemeanor littering charge they can't prove?

And then shouldn't all the yokels who drove their Sprinters thru sensitive ecosystems and shit in the canyons to take some pics be held accountable too? From my view, they did more damage than MFA.

At least on subsequent sightings the pieces were gone in a day or two with no visible damage.

And Lone Star - BLM won't be able to prove anything. Claiming something on the Internet =/= proof

I think it is just another example of how the social media narcissism culture is ruining humanity. Things like this aren’t “cool” or “creative”. It brings out the worst traits we have as humans.
