the sketchy drive was worth it. all time at Central today with Grom #1. snow is so fast, dry (for here). Bailed around 1 when visibility got quite a bit worse. Glad we did the roads weren't getting any better. The Punishers were the perfect choice.

Looks like Alpental is closed tomorrow. Keep it safe, fellas. I'm in Hawaii until next week, so I expect it to keep puking cold snow for you all week. I'm glad my sacrifice has not been in vain. Loving the stoke.

Well damn. I moved some things around at work and had my boss all buttered up so i could be up for the noon-330 shift today. Looks like ill be shooting for a Friday rebate.
Its cycles like this i wish i had bought a little dump on the pass that backs up to 90 so i didnt have to worry about the drive. Just ski, blow snow, and fit work in around the "pow(d)er outages".

Yesterday broke past snorkle deep towards struggle deep with denser snow on top of Sat and Sun's uber fluffies. Pole probing >130cm.
What a storm cycle it's been.Move upside and let the man go through...

Standing in line at chair 1 at 10:13 waiting for loading to begin, watching the sun come out and temperature rise. Brutal.

What kind of touring ski would you recommend for this upside down deep snow? BGT?

I've been skiing my 186 renegades in our PNW winter bc conditions but I think the general consensus is that the protest and bg are better. I've used neither so can't compare. They are certainly lighter than the rens. I mostly tour when there is new snow, and I appreciate the flotation and nimble handling of the ren in all fresh snow conditions.
My other big ski is the MB 116c 192 but I prefer the rens when it's heavy because turn initiation is faster due to full rocker + more centered stance. That said I don't know why more people aren't touring on the MB 116c, seems like a pretty good choice for a do it all PNW bc ski. I have mine set up for inbounds but eventually plan to add a cast set up for touring.
I guess I need to try the protests and BGs.
