I think power has been out up there this whole time also.

    Central cam was up earlier.

    Roof shedding has happened.

Dot cams are down and obs stations are down. I think that central can might be on batteries

Edit-looks like dot cams are back. Must have been nasty up there. Would have been a fun one to sit it out through

Yes, power is definitely out. If power does come back by Sunday, I'm betting on a bottleneck due to reduced driving lanes 5 miles from the summit and less parking at alpy and other base areas.

Thanks. Did not check if it was back. Always a little weird after it has been down for a while but looks like at least 6 inches?

1.39 wet since 5:00 pm yesterday at 18-20F sure seems like more than 6".
    I'd guess more like 12-14".

The 12-14" matches the forecast for yesterday. If I90 really does not open until Sunday morning, I'd be very surprised if they could get the hill ready to run and operate on Sunday. I think Monday is most probable.

Yeah, you are right. I was reading it wrong. I hope you are wrong on alpental tomorrow, but guessing you have that nailed too. I will ski west tomorrow if that is all there is at this point!

Yeah, not Alpental specifically. I was thinking of the Summit as a whole for Monday. Though we get a bonus with Alpental open the following Monday (1/17) for MLK Day.

If they can get open tomorrow with 12+", I'll be very curious how it skis with the rain layer.

Nah it's a mis-read of the precip after a power outage. The little notes say when the power is out the precip gauges don't heat, so they record more/inaccurate precip numbers when they come back on line and thaw out.

Per my old man who's been up there digging out all week, 26-28" fell thurs night into Friday 11am then ~ 2" of rain thru the afternoon changing back to snow early evening, 6-8" new o/n.
Move upside and let the man go through...

The refrozen debris fields shall be glorious! Only question is what will be the comparable appliance? Toaster, microwave, or washing machine?

That sounds like a bunch of work. I was complaining in north bend! I should be quiet..

Thanks for the recon. Fingers crossed road opens early, and something opens up there to make turns on...
