We usually drive out there, but flying into Bozeman is easy. It's a fun mountain when the base is big enough.

Big Sky is about 50 miles from the airport - takes about an hour depending on traffic and road conditions.

I thought it was kinda odd that there was nobody around that we could see for that time of day, I would have guessed that I’d see some people heading out to the parking lot

Maybe the big natural earlier in the season actually resulted in people making good travel decisions and avoiding that area. One can always be positive..right?

A whole bunch of April 3rd reports on NWAC from Source Lake/Alpental Valley all describing the numerous wet slides and near misses that made folks "re-evaluate their decision making". Sounds more like pure dumb luck that no one got hit, rather than good travel decisions.

Or things switch to rain for a bit. Lots of things can happen which is why it's stupid to have Alpental closed when it's spring break for a lot of schools.

I've seen people do a lot of stupid shit at the Pass over the years but today at Silver Fir was a topper. A dude parked in the main SF lot and then laid two snowboards out to "save parking spots for his crew". Ballsy move on a 10 inch pow day. It was very entertaining watching him try to defend the two parking spots as the hoards descended to shred fresh pow. After a heated exchange he did move one board but WTF man?!

Could be a little firm under the new snow higher up, could be a little thick and sticky lower down
