I'm heading up tomorrow night and Friday night (as long as it's open). The storms stacking this week are nuts. Glad I didn't miss everything. Stoked to see everyone getting after it while it was good last week.

❗️OPERATIONS UPDATE❗️
Alpental will remain closed today. However, we are extending the hours at Silver Fir and it'll stay open until 9pm this evening. Because avalanche hazard remains high at Alpental we plan to take advantage of a weather window tomorrow morning to bring a helicopter in to facilitate control work on difficult to reach avalanche start zones and cornices in and around Alpental. The area will be closed for the duration of that mission. At this time we expect Alpental to be closed until after noon, we'll provide an update on ETA after 11am. All other areas will be open as scheduled Wednesday.
(Note: this video was shot last season. However, we felt it is important to show why the area needs to be closed for this work to take place.)“I have a responsibility to not be intimidated and bullied by low life losers who abuse what little power is granted to them as ski patrollers.”

Last night at central was fine, maybe 2-4” on the ground, soft but still feeling the crust or rain or whatever layer from Sunday/Monday. Going about s1 when I left around 8. Packed snow on the pass down to about 1400-1500 feet. East bound on the way in was a gong show. All in all a solid night. The forecast looks insane.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?
fuck that noise.
gmen.

Was a fun night up under the lights. Crazy to see how filled in it is after the cycle last week. Will be up again tomorrow (fingers crossed that I90 stays open).

I'm gonna give momma a break and hang out with baby on Friday but planning to be up at hyak on Saturday morning to hike a few laps before the lifts spin and then ride chairs. If EB 90 is closed I'll be at alpy. Black and orange on renegades or mindbenders... say hi!

Got some a few good laps this morning up Chair 2. They popped Upper International around 10am-ish. Snow was very cream cheesy and it was dumping graupel when we left at 11:30am and it wasn't that cold. Manky at the bottom. Felsen was ripping. Snow was not bonding well, did not ski like 60"+....spots of crunch. Very fun as always - I should have been on my goats!
