    Skis for veterans?

Does anyone know of a program where one could donate a new pair of kick ass skis that would go to a veteran?

There is a mag (Mikey B) selling some brand new and burly Icelantic 10th Mtn Division skis (190 skis that are 105 underfoot) - just wondering how we could get these in the hands of a veteran in need who would also appreciate and be able to drive these skis to their full potential.

Anyone know of a program or a veteran? Would be nice to do something small but positive in this otherwise tire fire of a year.

I’m a veteran, send them to me !

In all seriousness, Contact SFB. He is a veteran too, plus he donates a shitload of time to wounded warriors, taking them fly fishing. He could find the proper home them.

As much as I am honored by this offer, I have a quiver of 8-10 skis and I really don’t need more.

Idea: the American Legion here in Big Sky is raising money for a 10th Mountain Division statue. I’m sure they would appreciate getting those beautiful skis and then they would raffle them off as a fundraiser.

I know the Legion guys, they keep trying to get me to join. Some billionaire at the Yellowstone Club will bid the price way up and the Legion guys will get their statue. Win-Win.

    I vote for this.

Someone organize. I have $20 towards the purchase of the skis.

Yes. Will post more later - likely will start a new thread. I will organize. There is at least one OG mag that can vouch for me that I’m not some grifter looking for Christmas cash.

OK, I talked to the American Legion here in Big Sky. They would definitely like to receive those skis to use as a fundraiser. Their plan is to build a statue of a WW2-era 10th Mountain trooper here in Big Sky. As this is for fundraising, it would be best to leave them unmounted.

Mikey-b = originally asked $525 shipped, he should get that.
bennymac = money man, maggots send money to him.

When we reach $525 he sends that amount to Mikey-b, who ships the skis to the American Legion.

Any amount over $525 we can include as a donation to the statue fund.

How does this plan sound ?

Got a link to that there "new thread?"
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.
