When was the last time an NBA team won a title with a bottom 5 defense? Has it ever happened?

I could be wrong but wasn't that aforementioned Mavs tram absolutely abysmal on D?

A title might be a bridge too far. They're not going to beat the Jazz in finals. Winning the East, however...

The main point is right now the Nets are unstoppable, the best 3-pt shooting team in the league, so the defense doesn't have to be top tier. They just have to be better than they are now defensively. Definitely not the bottom, but maybe improving to around 10th best defensively going into the playoffs would be good enough.

Was it the 80's/90's Suns or Mars that basically ran 100% offense, UNLV style?

I thought it was Denver, with Westfall as the coach. Olrando Woolridge put up some stats if memory serves...and they sucked.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that

Steve Nash's '7 Seconds or Less Offense' Suns ran UNLV style and he played for the Mavs too so I guess the Nets current style of play with him as coach kinda makes sense.

    05? Suns
Nash was mvp, 2 other all stars I remeber brilliant until they ran into a well coached Spurs team that could play D
    Same will happen to Nets.
KD is only one that has shown he can continue to be who he is at that level.

    That's the one.

And Popovich is going to do Popovich things to anyone he coaches against. The obvious GOAT IMHO.

50p 17r 5a 6stocks. God damn! 17 free throws, all with a bad back. Too bad he missed the Jazz game, would have liked to see that match up. RTRS on Zach Lowe today.

Yeah that's a crazy way to get 50, with no free throws either! What's Canada starting 5? I've got Murray, sga, dort, Wiggins, Thompson.

    Youngest player to score 35k.
3rd all time in points scored.
8th on the all time assists list.
    9000+ rebounds and counting.
    Almost 1000 blocks.
And 100 flops that worked in his favor.
    LeBron is the GOAT.

If MJ didnt get suspended for gambling/play baseball, he would still have more points and flops...

Goddman, Woodsy. The guy just wants to be another white man in Utah. Can't you just leave him be?

Btw, Kareem is continuously overlooked in the GOAT conversation. NBA credentials are obvious but Lou also killed it at UCLA, leading one of the most dominant college squads of all time.

Just to bring this from NBA to skiing. The Jazz sideline reporter can hold her own at Snowbird. Post practice Q and A via Creekside, D Favs and Conley over the Zoom session.

Yup, insane. I think I remember reading an article saying he could - emphasis on *could* - end up with 40k points, 10k assists, 10k rebounds, IIRC.

Heh, no. Last year Snowbird had a ride share app, I tried to use it all season with no success, the thing sucked. You’d put up the day and time you were going and people could request to ride with you. The one time someone requested a ride it was her. I had no idea who she was at first, I have always kind of hated the Jazz and rarely watched them. We became ski buddies and she’s now one of my favorite folks to ski with.

Player interactions are all cut off now, trainers and coaches are the only people allowed around the players. She does all her Q&A over Zoom, which allows for ski resort working rather than attending practice.

It was comical to watch her do her thing at Creekside, quiet till it was her time to ask questions, then people nearby listening in as her distinct voice asked questions. They edited out D Favs question of what was up with all the snow around her in tonights pre game coverage, heh.

And yeah, I now watch most Jazz games.
