I love the pescado and hope to add a pair back to quiver with tech bindings soon.

I just threw down on a new touring setup and was having dreams of lotus and la nina and feel grabbing pescados in the future will be fairly easy and getting touring gear for the wife and have 2 pairs of 118mm underfoot pow skis plus the loti seemed excessive all mounted alpine with the pescado in the mix as well. So cash flow and practicality dictated a slight adjustment.

A pescado with vipecs and nice mohair skin seems like an ultimate deep snow touring rig... on the buy list.

But yeah I have fucking issues.

I will say one ski that has remained a constant through all of this whoredom is the LP105.

99% you'll dig em at Stevens, especially in tight woods between tye and big chief.

I'm in a quandary about what I'll grab on a pow day, might end up segmenting the quiver by 2" snow depth increments divided by visibility multiplied by brofactor subtracting tree tightness and factoring for desire to send (dts factor), with an additional variable of likelihood of being tracked out within (x) time scale due to socialmediahype (y2) finally multipling the result by probability of exiting the gate.

Let's be honest, I'll probably just grab the lotus because why not.

I haven't ridden on the pescado's yet but whenever they cross my mind this is the spot where I could see them fitting in my quiver.

Yes, this. Such a great tool for wild snow and really light. Was tempted to do that with my current pair but justcuz seemed to be in need.

I tried to think of all the skis I've bought/sold/traded in the last 10 years.

1.)I couldn't remember all of them
2.)I think it's upwards of 50 pairs (or more)

Yeah I need an intervention, fuck.

The only more rare 200+ dps lotus were the 3 pair of blue 202 Lotus 138's made in the summer of 2010 (rocker 3.1).
Piers got a pair, no idea who ended up with the other 2 pairs.

I gave that pair to Dan (and another pair to Flylow Greg) NIP to use it in their tradeshow booth for OR&SIA and then to ski after the shows.
Dan put (I think) jester demos on there (which I may have given him). A little foggy the details now.
Greg tele'd his like a man.
I have a pair of the Black bamboo sidewall version... my single favorite deep pow ski... its a bullet to say the least.

My kids will inherite these... if they are good.

So many people rave about the the black bamboo sidewalled loti, why did they change them?

I mean I get switching to more durable sidewalls, but the form of that ski is so sweet.

In politely challenging the statement in your signature, how many skis have you tried since getting the Lotii 15 years ago? Just curious

FWIW, I'm a fan of the 120 class pintail shape.

Man. I feel you. Though there may be some selection bias in “so many people”.

Core Shot put it really well above. For some, the journey outweighs the destination. Or, for true innovators, it can be hard to know when you have arrived until you have already departed - as you are always looking for the next thing.

i really hope DPS realizes that their most valuable options for the small batch powderworks skis already exist, and innovation is not needed nor wanted.

    2005 190 Lotus 120
    2007 200 Lotus 120
    2007 202 Lotus 138
    2010 184/190 Lotus 120 Hybrid
    2011 192 Lotus 138
    2012 192 RPC
    2013 185/191 w105 T2

Makes me want to start a little off-shoot brand just with those skis. I’d add some monster 88/98/108 clones in there too, haha

I’ll buy in. Only if the 88s make the cut . Put literally over 300 ski days on some liquid metal 88s.

I picked up a pair of Sakana's this off season as a fun/playful ski. Hopefully it'll prove to be a fun addition to the quiver.

And know that you're not the only one with a problem. So many skis have passed through my hands over the past decade. Hell, I've owned 4 different Praxis Protests and I currently have 3 different LP 105's in the basement...

I’d be in for one of these. 202 Lotus 138s with a Spoon tip and tail would be tits.

Could you also make a run of 194 Kaestle MX 98s? They are becoming increasingly rare to find.

FIFY, and I grant the selective bias, but so many great skiers I know have raved up those early Loti and lamented their scarcity.

Hey B... wait, was there a 200cm L120 in the first year? You would know better than me. If so, thanks for the head up!

but I mean, I totally hear you. I really truly miss the OG first few runs of L120 (and L138) too.

2010 184cm L120 Hybrids have been on my radar for years. Sorta given up. My white whale.

great thread - ive got my 192 gen 1 bamboo 138s still going strong with a brand new undrilled backup pair waiting in the rafters if they ever die. Got the other 'marshal special' 192 spoon 150s (wailer RPC topsheets) last season to spice it up a bit too. You will take these skis from my cold, dead, hands.

Never been on the 202 version, but would imagine in the right conditions and terrain there being nothing better.

    Glad you have those skis.

Anyone know about differences in the rocker profiles over the years? Found a pair of blue topsheet 192s, rocker 3.2 profile and flex 2 that I might have to pull the trigger on...
