High quality skiing today fo sho... bumped into good old AC and got in a couple of Ho Chi Minh laps. One of the best days of the season I’d say!

The New and improved Oregon 2020/2021 Ski Season Thread

TFT, good turns! So good to share with friends!

Before that, I hit rope drop for 1/2 Moon and lapped Heather from there on. I actually got hip deep in one chute today(!)

You should of heard the comments from those kids as they watch tbs maneuver his way down a ◇ flat light cut up mogul field. But I'll leave that part to tbs. To be honest it was a chore to get down it with any kind of style.

Not so much a mogul field as 6” of schmoo on top of re-refrozen slush crust, all nicely chopped to ribbons. My old knees and back won’t handle that pounding any more, even if I could see where the fuck I was going.

On the lift ride back up the kid with the gate basher poles said “You kinda struggled on that run. Did you use to be good?”

Timberline also showing Jeff Flood lift not turning. The ski areas are having some issues this weekend... Gonna do the same and head up tomorrow and roll the dice on temps/weather.

Found some mid morning powder. Fairly light and lift lines were tolerable.

Real good at TDH today. Little heavy but deep. Thanks to PMR for digging massive pits below the glade runouts

Painfully long lift lines early at tflat but got better by like 11. Soft snow with refills all day and some fun stashes if you knew where to look.

Jeff Flood was down today. So I can see that. When I looked at the lift status and saw that I was glad I stayed home.

Hum. I wonder if it was causing people to ride more for the numbers or faster to get the time stamps? Or the resort precieved that was happening

My first assumption would be faulty/expensive hardware or software. They're too cheap to implement it.

Bachelor seemed to have a lot of difficulty keeping the "Track Your Turns" working. Was not my thing, but I watched as my ski buddy had continual problems with trying to use that lap counter. It was frequently missing time she knows she spent on a given lift, but on the totals it showed her not even skiing that lift, on that day.

^^^yup, management decided it wasn’t worth the hassle. You can use a geolocation app to do the same thing
There were a bunch that would do nothing but lap Tbird and call in to bitch about missed laps
If you’re all OCD about vert you’re doing it wrong

In other news I scored a MtB parking pass this AM. 23, Snowing and rhime. Worse at the Doo. Worse tomorrow
It’s tough out here in the west
