    That terrain is real deal avy terrain with death traps everywhere. Multiple full burials in Heather and PR this season so far. MHM is quiet about it but it does slide and bury folks. There’s so much terrain with so many micro-features that can slide it’s impossible for them to control it all (and if they did adopt the policy of controlling it all, it would never open). I fell into complacency earlier in the season - “it’s Heather, it’s controlled and safe” and then I ended up helping to dig a dude out.

    Watched a boarder drop it on Tuesday. He sat up there for a few minutes and I wondered what he was thinking. Then he strapped in and had a buddy give him a little boost. Good thing it was silly deep.

    And the drop on that pic looks lot bigger than it actually is, not that I would ever try it ...it's a spectator sport for me.

    Today at Bowl the Caylor’s were exactly the right choice... 6-8” of fresh on top of the groomer, deeper in the trees and under the Lower Bowl chair. Bounced off of all sorts of hits and had a huge smile the entire time. These clown shoes just make skiing so damn effortless, make stomping landings super easy and encourage a general level of stupidity that I enjoy. Could’ve just as easily brought the Cease & Desist’s out, and would’ve had a blast too but the Caylor’s take the fun to stupid levels that I forget I’m over 40 and shouldn’t jump off shit like that.

    @barnballs -
    Like jonesy sez you can reserve all day next Thursday & Friday right now. You can also reserve afternoons on Sat & Sun right now.

    Recommend you reserve at least Thursday & Fri post haste. Maybe the weekend afternoons as well - you can always cancel.

    Use the Parkwhiz app to reserve, not the Bachelor site. The former sucks, the latter sucks more.

    They open up parking inventory each Monday at 6pm so be ready and maybe you can score the weekend full days then. In the past it’s been kind of a land rush right at 6 and everything is gone by 6:30. That issue seems to have gone away lately.

    Otherwise keep checking on a regular basis. Your chances improve as you get closer to the date. Toadman has scored weekend storm days on morning of.

    Teh Poacher may have an insider track as well.

    Good luck

    QFT

    + I waited for the HRE rope drop in some trees with an off duty pro patroller on Tues and picked his brain about burials in there. They must have a policy about downplaying/not discussing with the public. He told me no burials this season. I reminded him with "what about half moon on day 1 and what about..." He did admit that it does happen but rightly said it is pretty uncommon.

    I am a little surprised and thankful that it doesn't happen more frequently.

    My daughter recently pointed out that all the high schoolers have Wednesdays off this year.

    Guessed that the resort was going to be overwhelmed by fair weather riders on Wednesday, so I decided to skip the lifts and go for a walk up narth. Solo - so no action shots. Saw two people in 13h - one of which overtook me and broke trail the rest of the way up to the stone hut. Thanks dude! The snow in the alpine was a mix of windboard, sastrugi, and deep powder in sheltered spots. From treeline down it was DEEP everywhere except wind-hammered ridgelines. Winds were whipping at dawn, but someone flipped off the switch just about the time that I ripped skins.

    Didn't Mt Bachelor use to have a "track your turns" log on their website that you could look up your pass # and get the lifts you checked thru? Can't find it this year.

    Anyone know and use this?

    Thx
