    I wouldn’t dare call them village idiots.

    Yeah, they’re not knee droppers, but those old men were tellelling once and twice and so much more before the masses got fat skis and AT gear.

    Show some respect.

    Who called them idiots?

    (I see autocorrect changed "locs" to "lots".

    20 years ago they were skiing the stiffest Scarpa boots in order to drive LPs.... at a certain point just lock it down.

    Lol. My brain saw lots and translated to idiots.

    But yeah, they’re a unique crew.
    When I first noticed them in the tram line several decades ago, I was impressed they had stiff alpine skis with tele bindings.

    Then, over the years. I never saw them bend a knee.
    But they fucking rip.

    Sorry if I insinuated you insulting them.

    It’s all good. I hope.

    Not doubting your experience other than it brings up a topic. In general I find people saying things like "it was knee-deep" or "waist-deep" or "chest-deep" when there is 6", 10", 18"...

    People (broadly) are changing the meaning of those terms to mean "I made a couple turns and snow hit me in the (knee/waist/chest)." Like, yeah, a foot of snow billows up, but that's not the same as "waist-deep."

    Not gonna argue that I can be crusty; in this case, words have meaning and I'd rather we just stick with them.

    Anyone else?
    I'm feeling a little picked on ... quality day today, only took one ride up and cycled up high, no crowds just snow.

    Finished up with a Green River.

    I was shot. There were many safety breaks
    on the way down.

    Look at the big exit on Central. I'm sure it's still seeing traffic though.

    I had the pleasure of watching a Tierney descent (not the FD) of Igneous Rocks while we geared up on top of PF. The sluffs pouring down the various chutes was what caught our attention.

    Isn't there a variant of that line in there called something different?

    I feel like I fell down it today.

    Or a mule kicked me in the ass.

    Dropped about 8 feet onto a rock under my glute, while trying to one-ski it out. It was never gonna happen.
    Feel like I got a lemon sized lump on the rump.
    Between that, Sirvic hucking his meat and East or Bust on Tele parade, we're all likely to be on the slow roll tomorrow.

    On a brighter note our young female friend who lost her pass is back. Good on who ever ( finally ) made the right call on that situation.

    Bummer on the big hit DJ. Skiing with those younger folks has it's downsides but helps keep a guy pushing. Heal quick.

    I'm guessing you'd talk to a lot of rocks skiing in there right now.

    What's this about a young lady losing her ski pass? I feel like there's a good ski drama story here. I'm a total sucker for skiing or climbing drama. Sorry not sorry.

    The gal in question is the 17 year old ripping skier daughter of a Mag recently lost. She's got lots of support from the locs right now. She had a run in with a Boss, THE boss. He took exception to her attitude in a confusing mask incident and yanked her pass for the season.
    Natch she was beside herself, wrote a letter of contrition methinks and had other old dogs pushing on her behalf.
    I haven't gotten the first hand story but will be forthcoming.
    Fairly typical over reaction and punishment not fitting the crime...

    She got some applause this morning as she walked by for her early-ups this am at the tram...
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
    For all the good skiing out there, It's still not that deep overall. Fucking rocks...
    Skiing Central would be sketchballs in the crux but the out would be massive, yes?
    I saw Rick Hunt ski that in 1992, bony as fuck all, punches through the apron and tomahawks three rolls to a stand-up ski away. Tough mug that guy.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
    My lumps today were from another dumb friggin wreck; Skiing outta the split rock in Lower RS, somehow clicked out of my ski.
    Began the swooping rollout and realized I was on one ski.
    Couldn't make the abrupt transition and sat it down right on the ridge of a tire sized chunker.
    I made some pretty silly sounds, groaning and whatnot.

    I just lay there like a slug...it was my only defense.

    I've never not had rocks in the crux, even when it looks filled in from afar. When it doesn't? *shudder*

    I've always carried a rope with me and/or been prepared to hike out. I'm lame.

    [Edit to add: I've never had to use that gear, always made the leap.]

    Check..

    Great day today, seriously bell to bell with no stops. Tele from 11-2 was more workout than anticipated once I had a knowledge bomb dropped on me by my partner.. Knee to heel, no faking. Well shit. Really need a setup after today, that shiz was fun.

    Met back up with SirVic for a last but first hoorah in GC. Should have had my phone out for some mutual pics, sorry about that mang! Don’t think I’ve engulfed food that quickly in a long while.

    Agree always some bones in the crux...adds significantly to the pucker factor. Once you get through that you feel pretty good...until the air gets close. The out looks like 35' or so right now

    Thanks SirVic.
    Looks like you and EoB were having some fun too. Met you last year skiing with DJ, correct?
    I try and post it when I have it.
    Lot's of good stoke being posted lately.
    UAN and a few others are killing it.

    Damn DJ, sounds like that hurt.
    Heal up fast. More powders coming and
    we need to make a RS run with you.
    I'll drop off the volcano if you think it will
    help you heal quicker.
