Yep, that’ll be perfect. Meeting spot? Not exactly sure where the trail actually starts as I’ve never ridden it before

So, looks like Starbucks on the square is done. Shit is getting rougher for the average Joe. That said, I had never been in there…

Well, the movie was fun! Thanks for coming for a lap, EOB, good times.
The movie was grade A, well produced and edited ski porn, for sure. But the product placements in almost every sequence was a little much. But those TGR dudes know what they are doing.

Wish I could have joined in the fun but had to be in SLC for lax.

Might be fun to have an outdoor taco cookout this fall. There should definitely be a going away gig for Tye! I can’t cut it next wknd bit after that….

Looking forward to seeing the née TGR film. Been a while since I’ve seen one.

Well Schwerty, ya missed a good one.

I was impressed by the movie and would def give it a full thumbs up. They've been kinda hit or miss for me over the years but this one was good from beginning to end.

Shot mostly in JH, AK, BC and some PNW/cascades, there's a ton of DEEP pow skiing with some blower faceshots to dream of.
Lots of big mtn. face lines and a great flow of young Kai J. showing his skills, which are abundant... His best day ever shot is an initiation into big hucks, Fat Bastard methinks.
The soundtrack was better than usual, if a bit loud and zero park skiing.
    Well done, Jones' and JK.

Before the flick started, they were fixing to giveaway a pair of grom skis. I think the winner was a no-show so they challenged all the kids up front to a Plank-off.
Well this one kid was already in heavy prayer mode for the boards, all the adults were laughing at how badly he wanted those things. Practically begging.
So they all drop down and into a plank position. 2 minutes in and butts were lifting or knees began touching.
But this kid, he was driven. He stayed perfectly flat and it became obvious he was the ONE. Kai gave him the skis and the crowd erupts. It was a great stoky moment to begin the flick.

Thanks to EoB, Rideit, BabyBear, Skijunky, and the friends and family that came out. It was good to see all, meet a few new friends, catch up and make plans for a fun winter and The Quick and the Dead shindig.

    Le Tits Now.

The plank off was extremely entertaining. It had a very local vibe. The kid won, no doubt, because he had the most STOKE!!

Thanks all for making yesterday a great day. Nice to meet you rideit and get some pedals in.

Appreciate the post ride beverage courtesy of BB and SJ. Always good to see ya DJ, hang sesh soon.

Was impressed with the movie, a couple of the segments had me twitch turning in my seat. The plank off was hilarious, also the kid that ended up with the skis was the first one down so had held it the longest. The determination on his face was palpable.

I think Ullr was impressed by the turnout and vibe..

Thankfully it’ll melt but I’m not ready to go back to work or put ski boots on yet.

weather.gov is also calling for 2-4 inches at Grand Targhee overnight; https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClic...95836999999995

Speaking of which, work's finally moving me out of New York to Idaho at the end of October, just in time for the season. Should be less than an hour and half from Targhee (which is closer than I am to Gore now, which was my main hill past couple years).

Living in Rexburg (side not, the apartment market in east Idaho is fucking ridiculous these days, hardly anywhere available). Figure I'll ski mostly at Kelly Canyon and Grand Targhee.

From Targhee's site it looks like it's 9 days to break even on a season pass right now, so yeah, that looks like a good idea.

The 'Ghee pass goes up from $899 to $1299 in 11 days, Oct. 1.

The drive from Rexburg to GT is easy, even in a storm.

Django I'm calling bs on that one, haha. Going over the dry farms in a whiteout is hairball. No trees in sight. Sandbagging the gullible young move-in....

He should just commute to Targhee by motorcycle. Easy Peasy.

    ~ ~ SKI THE BIG ONE ~ ~ JACKSON HOLE '20-'21

IIRC didn’t they shut down 33 multiple times last winter? From the 2nd hand stories I’ve heard that road can become almost impassable when there’s blowing snow, worse than 26. I’d be really hesitant relying on it being open if it’s nuking and you’re trying to get to the mountain.

Are you locked into Rexburg yet? I can’t imagine there aren’t a fair amount of options in IF with the amount of farm plots being bought up by developers.

BTW - LC, if you are looking for more info on housing here feel free to PM. I’m living in IF now and may be able to answer some questions. Work moving you from NY to Idaho..? You working at the site?

Last winter was mild for 33, the winter before we had lots of multi day stretches where it was closed, which is the norm. Those pow days are magic at the ghee. Vibes on moving to Sexburg.
