Ah nice, I bet it's a good time for a Pro 2. That's a cool class, lots of high level conversation, I hope. What's your case study?

    I'm not seeing a video but i'm not on the 'gram so;
I was sniffing for slabbage of any variety today as we were first on a lot of slope angles. Was surprised and happy to see very little action and in only the most likely/consistent places. Still questionable all over.

    Sounds like a great cycle.

I'll be up there last week of January / first week of February.
    Super stoked!!!
Right on Pfluffen, we'll be ready for your arrivalz. Methinks a pnw mag or two will be in town then as well.
It's been less a cycle and more a few good stormy hits in between beautiful sunny high pressure days. We've been snowier than most places and the chill has maintained quality. We're just now getting up to speed.

I decided to go with 1/9/20 avalanche event/s on HWY22. I wanted to use that entire week period of time for it, but it wouldn't fit into the 15min time restriction. I decided not to make the instructors suffer through another case study about the Wy'East slide path events.

Got my visiting daughter into RS today. It's at the upper end of her skill set and she did really well...it was a really cool moment.

We went out the top gate and in the distance there were some VERY impressive slides to the north and west, like 500 yards plus wide and big enough crowns and debris pile to be clearly seen from a couple miles away or more.

PM me your email and I'll send you a screen shot from the Idaho 511 page with all the highways closed, but it's for the 13th Jan so might not fit. Have fun on your course!

This season it is a slow roll to the hobacks and if you want first trax, you're gonna be at the back of the 6000 person cluster at the base. Some days the one and done is worth it though.

    But, you're not wrong.

Pretty darn good out there. Family skiing till 2 then some ripping around. Stay off the south facing stuff that got sun on Tuesday and you'll have fun. One thing I learned early here is that aspects matter WAY more that any where else that I have been. Talked with a group that had a significant collapse in the north bowl wrapping to the east area of RS. Nothing moved but is sounded like a poopy pants moment. Keep your guard up.

Holy shit, people are now breaking into WYDOT vehicles (the avi forecaster no less) to move them so they can park at the top of the pass.

    Howdy mags,

Been 2 seasons since I’ve popped down to the Ghee/JH, and I’m trying to weigh some options out right now.

We have a good family friend of my fiancée who is living at the Teton Village this winter. Pretty good upshot. The downside is that we picked the Friday before Presidents’ Day weekend to start skiing in the area. Definitely going to ski that Friday at Jackson hole, since the Saturday and Sunday is obviously sold out. But I’m also weighing the option of doing one of those two out of five day passes if it means we could ski on the weekend. Any tricks to the trade that I should be aware about (besides what has been posted in this thread)?

Backcountry skiing is also on the cards, but I want to have all my bases covered if the Avvy conditions go south.

Also if anyone is willing to part with any ghee/JH ticket deals, you would be nicely compensated for it.

glad to see that you guys have been having a decent enough winter down there. Lucky skunks for sure.

if this was the 27th, this guy blocked in 5 vehicles, we all dug each other out while we waited for this guy to show up. "someone who blocks in others should leave their keys on the floor " , who puts keys in a tool box. this story is bullshit. no one broke into nothing open
