That Lake Effect was no joke today.
Merely looks like it rained at my house now; roads and decks are saturated with wetness, but the residual snow be gone.

My teen’s feet likely have stopped growing. Rather than fighting over boots that may or may not fit from the ski swap, we’re planning go to a shop and get a real fitting.

Suggestions in truckee, Tahoe city, and points in between?

I’m partial/biased to 3 piece boots and the potential for stiffening them up with stiffer tongues and he gets stronger in his adult sized self. I’m also biased to lower cost when possible. he’s biased to something that’ll fit well and understands my bias. He’s got a large and chunky forefoot and instep.

As a tele guy, my personal boot fitting has been very simple since the mid-90s and I’ve been molding ultrathon foam liners on myself and others since 1998. We do not live near where my wife got her boots fitted.

I've been going to Olympic Boot works at Squaw. Lately my impression has been that they tend to upsell. I've heard good things about Tahoe Sports Hub in downtown Truckee. I don't know any particular fitter there.

Bob @ Sports Hub (or Doug or Keith, if he's still there).

What size boot is your teen in?
I've got a Tecnica Mach1 120 LV shell and a Tecnica R130 race shell, both in 25.5 (both need liners and new soles).
I also have some first gen Zero G 130's in 25.5, brand new.

Can we make boot fitting recs for the new season while we're still in the old thread?

And I thought it was obvious that I share beer with jigalos. Very woke beer, obv.

Thanks for the recommendations and the offer!

He’s an 11.5 street shoe. I haven’t put him on a brannock device in a while. Last season was a cluster for his boots and a chunk of his days skiing. He ended up using 28.0 Nordica rental boots.

    I ain’t starting the new thread….

I suggest we have a separate, permanent thread dedicated specifically to Tahoe area bootfitters.
And link to that discussion at the top of each annual Tahoe thread.

With the cycle coming in and the boot recs coming out I don't think the '21 thread is much longer for this world.

Just wanna say this thread was great and yall crushed it this year.

You know it snowed a foot up there Sunday night? So not sure what you mean by "still" clear. Anyway, it's been raining like crazy so maybe...
Here's a pic of castle valley road.

    And round Valley

Both from Monday. If you go, post a trip report!

If this is a tongue in cheek nod towards MTBR then I approve.

It's not that easy to find the new thread if you didn't catch the announcement when you first started it. Which is fine--only the cool kids will participate.
