No areas on the West Shore are under any warnings or orders. Barker Pass road and Rubicon McKinney are closed because they head into closed areas that are not on the west shore

The evacuation/warning map put out yesterday, expanded more towards almador today I believe. Warning areas in yellow, suspect all the way to Echo pass will go red tomorrow, possibly parts of south lake/ Meyers will go yellow.

Lots of folks in Meyers packing up and working on defensible space today including me

Heavenly closed for the summer. Looks like they mean until winter operations begin.

That is desolation wilderness. There are no evac warnings on the west shore. I work on the west shore. They are not even a little bit concerned other than for us.

At least the SW winds today are milder.

Winds are taking it towards desolation now at least there’s lots of granite out that direction.

Heard there setting back fires around Sierra at Tahoe.

I'm kinda thinking it's time to winterize the boat already.

Id keep the boat handy. I’d rather go on the lake if told to evacuate than deal w any of the exits out

I go to a summer cabin now surrounded where it jumped 50. Firefighters saved it once a couple decades back, hoping they do again. We keep up on the raking, but it sits by itself, so may not be high on the priority list.

Hmm. The winds today and tomorrow don’t look gnarly, but is Meyers inching toward an actual evac situation tomorrow?

Watched the 5 pm briefing. Main news is that ops will start using hwy 89 as the eastern box border. While there’s no imminent risk of 89 closure, the decision reflects their abandonment of the current eastern border.

Was there any briefing info on the northern side of the fire? That is one huge question mark.
Connecting 50 and 89 at their closest points with dozer line just west of Strawberry and Kirkwood would turn into one XL firing operation, especially with the resources currently assigned.
There are some folks around who could do it. Fingers crossed for all concerned.

I though the briefing sounded hopeful to me at least. You may need Facebook to watch it
