Yeah I got them for resort skiing, and last year I thought wanted the extra dampening of full toe piece. This year post surgery I tried slamming my foot into the barons once and threw (gently placed) them back in the roof box until today. Now they have a new home on the north shore.

Man hopefully before that, I have to believe that as long as the snow is mostly packed, people will keep booting and sledding down obnoxiously long hills. Hopefully when the snow returns and people are wallowing up to their waist they’ll call it. But Ik new snow always draws more people in anyways... ugh.

    Better coverage than it looks.

Hardpack, consistent, edgeable, schralpable fun. (in)stability tests looked solid.
I concur. The hard pack was fun today, was skiing pretty fast. Yesterday was even better, if you were on the right aspects it felt like skiing slalom.

Once you set the booster, and in run, sledding in pow is a blast.

A lot of very smart people think that March will disappear in April.

Marpril is for treatment of moderate to severe seasonal affective disorder, or SAD. Do not take Marpril if allergic to Marpril. See a doctor if effects last longer than 4 hours.

Tell your doctor if you've had an organ transplant. On second thought, if your doctor doesn't know you've had an organ transplant find a new doctor.

    Ladder cables for the win!

Which, btw, are prohibited on Brockway Summit (at least that is what the Amber Alert electronic billboard on 267 says); no idea if or how they enforce it though as I regularly encounter minivans, Priuses, and Beemers proudly rocking the cables all over Truckee...

Caltrans won't acknowledge winter tires (real ones, aka "Snow tires") but they'll specifically ban certain type of cables?

Cable chains are legal "but may be restricted at times due to local conditions".

I'm under the impression that conventional chains won't fit in the wheel wells of a lot of cars. (I've been driving 4WD/AWD exclusively for 40 years. Am I right?)

I was lookin in wal mart a couple weeks ago, there are normal chains that are fitted for a pri pri. But I don’t feel like paying for the chains and the tension straps. Maybe I’ll be eating my words one day, but cables have worked fine in pretty much any snow/ice I’ve driven in, including driving up and over 50 from SC during a pretty big storm Feb 2019... bought em at a Walmart in Sac on the drive up lol.

I feel like this stuff is idiot proof (using chains/cables and knowing where you can/can’t drive), then I see pics of that dumbass in the beamer. How is someone that dumb so rich? This dude is a primo example why lawyer and tech bro income should be taxed at 80%.

Doesn't look like he's even stuck. High centered?

Reminds me when I didn't know how to drive, yet still instructed some guy how to back over a 2 foot ice patch. Could not get momentum into his head. Dude had an amazing brake reflex that kicked instantly on wheel slip.

Anyone know if the beacon checker at the CP/Andesite trailhead is dead? Went out for a quick skin up to castle pass and wasn’t getting a signal when I approached the box.

Edit: beacon is working fine so the box must be busted
