I could use the UD running vest and the Lowe Snowpeak if you’re willing to ship.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

Lovely rain today. Sounds like a little more weather Wed-Fri--snow level might get down to 6100ft. Doesn't sound like much but snow after Squaw closes is a tradition around here. Snow has canceled a couple of bike races in May, but not a SUP race on Donner Lake one year that took place in a pretty good snow storm.

Actually got snow at kirkwood, maybe 2" on the mountain, snow line was about 8k feet. Looks like it was enough to smooth out the suncups but it will need a good freeze to cycle, didn't try to slop today.

    Nice!

Looks like some weather this Thurs - Saturday to stall the melting process as well.

I keep seeing predictions of 1-to-3 inches of snow in Truckee and points north (i.e. Yuba Pass).

It's the rain forecasted for F/S that's got me bummed...

let me clarify: we need the rain and I am grateful for it. Plus it could scour down some of the burgeoning suncups, yet with the predicted overnight freezing, it could also create some interesting (i.e. icy) conditions, as well

I re-winterized my camper van this morning...overnight lows to mid-20's for four nights and daytime temps scrambling to break 40.

Lovely May day. Covered a few things in the gardens but glad I didn't put seedlings out yet. It was so warm and dry lately, I almost did.

Fuck me. I told my wife I was done skiing just Wednesday afternoon. That looks like it might be enough for a corn reset. That would be sweet.

Skied me some NE facing decentness in the hood today.
Full-on freshly fallen, recently consolidated Sierra cement action was had.
Original plan was for some NW aspects, but they were wind scoured and a combo of lightly heavy new snow covering firm, Tahoe boilerplate suncups.
NE still had some semi-icy suncups lurking underneath, but they were also kinda semi-soft. Top layer of fresh was quasi Sierra Cement that caked off during turns.
Nothing slid, but the layers definitely weren't bonded (we were probably on a sub-35 degree pitch).
Had snow flurries on and off and it was windy up on Donner Ridge.
That said, my bootpack was pretty much melted out on the hike back to the truck.
Nothing as picturesque as what Gimpy posted above, but freshies were had nonetheless.
FWIW, it was snowing briskly at 3, yet by 3:37 it was sunny and the 4" on my back and front decks had almost melted out...

Heading to "Tahoe" next weekend from SLC with MTB's. Seems like we might be a little early but we'll be pretty mobile so we might do some Downieville riding, some Reno/Carson City riding, and as much as we can do up higher. Maybe we'll try to ski or otherwise ramble in the higher peaks of South Lake or further down along the eastside before we go head the following weekend.

Anyway: can anyone recommend decent camping on the Reno/Carson City/Mt. Rose side of things? Access to bike trails or roads that lead to bike trails a plus. Thanks!

Washoe Lake state park has camping:

Farther south, look at Grover hot springs at Markleeville.
