I'm 70 and I can tell you that hiking around 4 acres wouldn't be a warm up. And my pipes are probably almost as plugged up as yours.

Have you ever seen the guy. The distance from the front door to the garage is a hike. I bet the fact that he can carry when he goes for a walk also played into his desicion to move there.

I think he's talking about going on hikes without everyone recognizing him. Here he can hike, see people, and not be an attraction.

What? We are not taking about skiing! It's all about celebrity families moving to North East Tahoe. Gene will blend in with all the other old dudes living there. Sharon that's a different story. But knowing the area no one will even ask for an autograph

Is there still going to be a lift tower in the middle of west face or is that gone with the new alignment?
Info on specific tower locations is something I don’t know. But it wouldn’t surprise me. I don’t know how much of a choice they have, if you look at where the line goes.

FWIW, I I interviewed Shannon Tweed back in 2001 in another life.
    She was hella cool.

    https://www.ign.com/articles/2001/08...-shannon-tweed

I also told Gene Simmons to fuck off in that other life.
Buy me a beer and I will regale you with that tale.

As for being able to hike anywhere around Tahoe and not encounter anybody, especially somebody who wouldn't be able to recognize Mr. Simmons, I really wanna know where those trails are...

In regards to skiing today, we are in that full- on spring cycle: bulletproof from 8 - 9, window of sweet corn from 10 - 1, nuthin but speed slush and sticky grip from 1 - 4, at least at The Star.
"Man, we killin' elephants in the back yard..."

If you really want to know a couple of trails PM me. They're nothing obscure, just long. As far as Gene Simmons I couldn't give a fuck. And I'm sure I wouldn't recognize him. I suspect if he did hike around here he'd be disappointed that no one asked for his autograph.

    Nice!

regarding Spring shananagans - much better than sitting in the house and doing taxes like me today. HJ5 - is that pic from right off Hwy 50? That zone was getting pretty thin down low a few weeks ago. curious to know how much it's progressed since then for hitting the typical Southerly corn runs if that's where it was.

Up off mount rose highway actually, we were accessing one of the peaklets off mount rose from that DOT shack. It was worth it for the ski, wasn't exactly corn (I don't know how much of a refreeze there was yesterday) but the snow skied super fast and was supporting carve-able turns on open slopes. Where there was some tree cover, snow was a little bit more of a mixed bag but that's what makes bc skiing fun IMO.

FWIW, I went to Sac this past week via 50, still decent amount of snow on the right aspects, but anything with a southerly aspect right on the road was getting pretty well burned off.

Thanks HJ5! Ageed- some of the fun in the BC is the "Mixed bag/unknown factor fun"

Great pics Gimpy! killing it this year again. Looks like you experienced some of the "unknown factor fun"
