That’s good news, from a friend in Xmas valley: Yeah talked to my neighbor who stayed and is fighting with lake valley. Sounds like structures are still ok in the CV.

The house fire is about an 1/8 of a mile east of us. A helicopter dropping water and a fixed wing dropping retardant--came up short a couple of times and quit. About 6 engines--Truckee FD, Cal Fire. Another smaller fixed wing circling the area. There are 3 heavily wooded, overgrown lots east of the house. The house is an STR.

TahoeBC - there was a temporary error with the perimeter data shown on CalTopo. I don't know for sure but I believe on the government server we get data from, rather than on our end. Your screenshots captured that error, and aren't an accurate reflection of the fire's progress - although by morning, who knows. You might want to delete them.

Kirkwood webcam night vision leaves laser trails on every particle. They do it to hype snowfall. I wouldn't judge anything from what you're seeing.

Perimeter maps from around 9 pm. These will be outdated in the morning but the gist is that the fire appears well established on the east side of Xmas Valley and behind the Paradise Golf Course. How easily it will be able to run east then up toward Fountain Place is a big question - I have no idea.
