Cochise Team boot for my 12 year old??

Looking at boots for my 12 year old, want something with a walk mode since he's starting to tour a bit. He's a pretty big kid, about 5'4 110-15 pounds, advanced skier but not total ripper. Big feet, size 26 boots. Have found some decent deals on unused Tecnica Cochise Teams from last year. Its still a junior boot (he'd be in the biggest size) so it has a somewhat lower cuff and lower flex of 90 compared to many adult walk mode boots of that size. Does that sound appropriate, or should I just be looking for some 100 flex adult walk mode boot? I'm super geeky about my own boots, but no super knowledgable about whats right for kids stuff... Thanks
