    Solitude Snow Report

At noon I measured the snow at the base of Soli at 8" and it is continuing to puke at 1-2" an hour. Ski area is a complete white out.

My best guess is around 14" up higher at Alta, it is deep. But the sun is now out and the base temp is saying 48 . I think that is overstated, but it is definitely warm.

My daughter lives at the base of the Red Pine Gondola. There is 15” of snow on her deck.

The look of a man that just skied untracked stick to your face 3rds to greeley at 2pm in mid April

So glad I went up. Such fun skiing except for groomers below the angle

Reason #4 not to buy an ALTA/BIRD pass: You're an idiot who lives more than 20 miles away and who sometimes forgets ski boots at home.
    Oh well. Next time

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who occasionally makes this mistake.

Me too. BTDT. I once forgot my jacket and didn't realize till I made it all the way to DV. Of all the places to try and buy a cheap jacket, luckily they had loaners at guest services! Rocked that shitty costco jacket for the best pow day I've ever had on the Wasatch Back.

Who the hell makes this kind of mistake?, I say, as I look back fondly to one of the best powder days of this year in Jackson Hole during which I was reduced to wearing light fleece gloves that I happen to have in my car, since I left my real gloves back in town...

Yes, that was the latest word. Which is forcing me into a full freakin Ikon purchase on top of a full Alta pass. Which I am not super happy about.

I forgot my skins in the freezer last week.

But, hold up: wasn't the ikon included with Altabird pass last season, or did I pay $249 for that and not even use it?

Base. This year it's $300. But doesn't include any Jackson Hole or Aspen, and you can't upgrade it. Or maybe you can. And there's the confusion.

Dealing with ikons if I got a free one seemed passable, but fuck this setup. Altabird are getting fucking worked by these mofos.

My buddy Lori paid for the Jackson upgrade on her Altabird/Ikon pass. They kept her money all summer and then before the season told her they couldn't do it and refunded her the money.

Made a thread about this in general, but maybe it’ll get more notice in here...

Long time friend, employee and all around great guy had his girls skis stolen out of his truck at Alta. I know you guys are all super sleuths. Let’s make these turn up.
