Shore didn't; especially thanks to The Gronathan for keeping Collins open till 5 on the first day of spring and for you, the rest of patrol and the lifties for making it possible Pushing off the top for last run at 5:10 with heavy faceshots all the way down Definitely well deserving of the many tekilla shots partaken of at the bahr afterwards! Looked like quite the crowd at the Polar Bahr too Jimmy

For a while we've been trying to post up some toboggans on the LCC / BCC ridgeline. WBR bucked up this year and there are three rigs in place. First use came this past Saturday.
Fella in Upper Day's injured his knee, party called ASP and got told where the closest rig was which was Flagstaff. They hiked the injured party back up to the ridge, and self evacuated into the LCC.
Cool.
Been trying to make last Saturday happen for years. Great that it was self serve. Granted that one of the party was an ex ski patrolman and another was a fire fighter...
Problem is how to get the rig back up there?
I suggest a toboggan dispenser. You know, swipe your credit card and get dispensed a toboggan, return it for the refund on your card.
Any ideas of how to cheaply return backcountry toboggans to their stations would be appreciated.
Helis aren't cheap, and Akias are heavy...Time spent skiing cannot be deducted from one's life.

^that's pretty cool that it worked out so well for them.
As far as getting it back up there, if only we could find a group of strong skiers motivated by free beer (hopefully bought by the party that used it)

WASATCH STOKE, CONDITIONS, OBSERVATIONS and ASSORTED DRIVAL 20-21
Solitude had some real nice soft if you were willing to work for it. We were.
Traded skis with my kid. Got the DIN wrong. Paid for it when I let my speed drop a little too much and found the crust layer under the fluff. Forced the turn, popped out of the heel, cartwheeled a little, lost the other one.
Get down and kid asks me why I took so long. Then launches some mini cliff.
I’m taking my skis back.
Was a great great day. Again.

Wow the skiing was good the past few days!
Sunday was all time and I didn't want to stop. Took minimal photos since it was pretty milky most of the day, but snapped one this one on the way up
started the conga line up little pine yesterday morning. Started with another group, about 700 feet below the ridge another group of 4 caught up and then we passed like 6 people as we skied down. Don't worry though, our group wasn't letting anyone get in front of us haha That type of pressure does suck some of the joy out of the experience, but that's the wasangles way and we were skiing in view of the road so I guess it's not all bad. Plus the other parties did help break a little. Most of these photos are my buddies who lurks on here so thanks for the good times and the glory shots!
