TODAY WAS AWESOME!!! Wildcat was sooooo nice

Strong argument in this thread for not removing the old pair of boots I've lazily avoided taking inside from my car!

I definitely leave a beat up pair of boots, an old hat, and a pair of worn but functional ski mittens in my truck for the entire season, after one too many "whoops" moments.

An Ikonic fairy tale of sorts: Last year I activated the Ikon base purchased with my Bird pass, on the deadline date. The site accepted my last minute request to upgrade to full Ikon at that time. Later I learned the option was not supposed to be available, and called Ikon to clarify and/or get a refund. The representative said that a computer error had occurred, but since they had accepted my money, the upgrade would stand. A mini win.

I'm going to do my best to dry everything out from today and not stay up late again in anticipation of tomorrow, but it may be hard. Hope yall can get out and it's even better than today! Will be at Soli or Brighton if anyone wants to make some turns.

Remember to doublecheck the gearbag before leaving home!

New as of midway this season. Idk how long they've had the cam on it. Not very.

It was deep and dense out there today. Intermittent afternoon sun cooked Patsy. Back to dumping as of now.

I'm sure that yesterday was great. Here is a shot from 6 years ago today at Snowbird. Gotta love those April storms

All aspects skied beautifully last night, only greenhousing I found was on direct S below ~9200, but still skied nice and styrofoamy or something.

Gonna try to get back out after work for 1 more (hopefully not last) pow lap, and then hope ASP gets the castle popped for tomorrow!

I guess it doesn't matter that much if the backcountry gates stay closed in perpetuity. When it comes to the colony I miss the good old days before those houses had reliable internet and security cameras everywhere, the mid-afternoon hot-tub poach in the house that is only used 2wks a year is getting harder. These days i'm sure that if you ski by the day before to turn the heat up in anticipation of the next day soak some device connected to the internet notifies the management company and they can turn it back down remotely.

Wow... this sounds like it was specifically done to limit skiing in that area rather than mitigate avalanches. I'm definitely not of the "Vail is terrible" mindset as why would Vail want to ruin skiing since skiing is part of their "product" but this DEFINITELY qualifies as terrible.

p.s. It was mid February powder conditions at Alta this morning! Unreal! Left around 11:30 and it was still skiing exceptionally well. Snow showers look to continue to mid to late afternoon, could be another great morning tomorrow!

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Hope all the Sandy mag families are safe. 4 blocks from my old house, used to walk right through there with the dogs almost every day.

Very, and more terrain than that!

Sun came out to cover the 100 sq. ft of the summit at the top of our last run for one of those magical backcountry moments:
