WASATCH STOKE, CONDITIONS, OBSERVATIONS and ASSORTED DRIVAL 20-21

    Let's get this started!

Lots of unknowns about what this season will look like.

But I can guarantee there will still be plenty of untracked powder to ski.

Stay safe, help others, and have fun.

First stoke of the year: started the bridging process at alta with my almost 2 year old today:

Dude I saw you there when we were coming out of summer road. Did not realize it was you until I saw your car. Good hiking out there today

Saw a few skimo dudes and they got some turns

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

I'll still be around Utah a few days per month this winter for work, and you bet your ass my skis will be in my truck. And when I'm in CO I'll be the Skidog of this thread!

And so it begins. How it ends, no one knows, but there certainly will be powder, traffic, full backcountry parking lots, and all kinds of fun!

So, if you cannot understand that there is something in man which responds to this mountain and goes out to meet it, that the struggle is the struggle of life itself upward and forever upward, then you won't see why we go. What we get from this adventure is just sheer joy. And joy is, after all, the end of life. We do not live to eat and make money. We eat and make money to be able to enjoy life. That is what life means and what life is for.

The girls were beyond psyched at the cold and snow. Ski team buddy came over and sled jumps were made, new skins cut and skis mounted. Cannot wait!

Hah, my gloves (which I don't use much - prefer my mittens) didn't come with strings and my homemade solution, as you can see, is far from effective. Maybe another snow or two and I can put skis on the feet

Very cool! Passed that on to friends.
I think my first knowledge of the WURL was with it on snow. http://slc-samurai.blogspot.com/2010...ortem.html?m=1

I remember reading that after doing the WURL in sections over a few summers and just shaking my head. As if the WURL didn't have enough vert on its own!

Edit: watched the video. Damn. These girls are crushing and laughing about it the whole time. I would not go on a 4 day winter camping adventure with that cough, I'd stay home and complain. Also, 21 hour summer WURL? Beast.
