Truth. My kid has buddies with secret urban rails already built. There will be people sliding in SLC the next time there is at least 3", though it may take them some shovel work.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Can you believe it, we may actually be able to ski a little pow in a week to 10 days.

    Breathe deep the gathering gloom.....

Snowbird is already reporting snow: 16". Although criscam's kiddo is having fun, I will wait until next Mon. or Tues. Lots of sharks out there. Temps are going to stay cold. There is a wintery pattern in place until at least next Monday. Looking great for the weekend before Thankstaking.

I am still only a 2 year newb to the Wasatch and BC but it is certainly the least snow I have seen for late October. What are everyones thoughts? Is this an abnormal early season?
Well, newbie, sometimes the best calls are from newbies.
The most stable snowpacks happen in years that when it starts snowing, it keeps snowing.
    Even if it starts late.
Like Schindlerpiste just said, the forecast looks promising.
And that would provide great basal stability.
Fingers crossed for the long range.
Wouldn't it be great to have a stable pack 'round here with all the backcountry traffic we're bound to see?
Doesn't happen often; this would be a good year for it...
