I've been bc skiing for a decade and some days I feel like this describes me to a T. It must be one of those high gravity days.
I've been backcountry skiing since 1991 and that still describes me.

Never change! If it's worked for the past 30ish year it's hard to say you're doing it wrong.

BTW I had to remount a pair of skis last year due to an excessively forward mount and resulting constant tail-trampling. I was flailing so hard on the skinner if became a running joke.

    Alright so what's the play with advanced days? Reserve 11/29 - 11/31? 12/24 - 12/28?

I'm thinking between road parking and alta FCFS, we will be able to ski the days we want. It's just a matter of it being more of a pain some days....

Jk, looks like its Alta or the Hellscape that UTA will be this year:

What parking lots will be equipped with this system?

All Snowbird parking lots, including the Bypass road. Due to limited terrain and lifts, we do not anticipate allowing parking along the side of SR-210 during the early-season.

    Drop-Off/Pick-Up

Reservations are not needed if you are only dropping off or picking up. 5-minute drop-offs will be available at the Snowbird Center and Creekside.

So I'm confused. Is the parking reservation system only open to snowbird passholders or also for Ikon people?

Its for everyone. You can't park at Snowbird without a reservation.

I love how they used the "7 day" for everything to make it even more confusing.

WASATCH STOKE, CONDITIONS, OBSERVATIONS and ASSORTED DRIVAL 20-21

Nice work. If they’re open for more than 30 days that is. Getting depressed about the chances of an actual season.

    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

I failed and ate Halloween candy. Reports are debatable as it’s getting warmer. I’m going up Saturday or Sunday for real this time.

Is there a WROD to the top, or is it literally 300' of skiable snow?

I saw a strava of a guy repeatedly lapping what appeared to be ~500' (and he would 100% have skied every available vertical foot) and he said it was melting fast and they were not making snow due to temps, fwiw. Have not had the motivation to go look for myself.

if you were to call the normal run "corkscrew" you would have to call what is available to ski

The Wasatch Weather Weenie guys called it the Collins Glacier, made me laugh. The fact that it's already melting away makes it a great symbol of the times.
