Looks like WSDOT is having major staffing issues . Are resorts allowed to pick up the slack plowing? Can I get a refund on my ikon pass due to road closures???

    What to expect:
    • The following roads will not be maintained until staffing shortages are resolved: US97, SR410, SR530, SR542
    • Some roads will not get the same level or service, may be only plowed minimally or will have snow and ice on the roadway for longer periods of time. Some areas may not be staffed 24/7.
    • Especially during large storms or long-lasting ones, we won't have a deep enough "bench" of staff to respond 24/7 for several days throughout the storm.
    • Some lanes of the freeway system may have snow and ice while crews focus on keeping just one or two lanes open.

Is vigilante plowing a thing? theres gotta be a few folks that could throw chains on their lifted F350s, put a plow on the front and lend a hand when needed. Would that be illegal?

Nice thought, but I don't think "pitching in" or "thinking of other people" is very big with that crowd.

Make sure you download the resort app too so you can get your FastPass.

Ask her if she'll plow 410.

Good evening or afternoon i assume for most, if not good morning or afternoon. Long December weekend into Seattle. Indy Pass Mtns seem too far. So Ikon being used (crystal or snowqualmie)??. Never been to either. Will be with buddy from Bellingham so cheep hotel in play if necessary or can always upgrade (old guy here). Timing is open for most of Dec up to 18th and depends on how snow comes in (how is it going so far). Curious on any opinions and appreciate all answers? Advanced rider but more curious on snow/fun/reliability/commute/beer/food/etc......

There are no resorts here. Expect mediocre soup, but world class umbrellas. WSDOT isn't plowing 410 this year. Tahoe has better burritos. The Seattle freeze is real, and it also usually starts at mid mountain or above.

    Thanks for the warning

As you can see, we’re still rolling the old thread, waiting for La Niña to kick in.

8 - 10 on gravel, grass and sticks at West for a few laps under Julie's while the kiddo sledded. Better than raking leaves at home.
