We were first chair. Lines didn’t even start until after 10 and they weren’t bad. 2 hikes out, only once to 5. Storm slab propagated and I flushed chute 4. That sent me down to castle to get more low hanging fruit. Hoping they do routes tomorrow, otherwise bringing gear.
I was wondering what the wind would do. Super fluffy with no wind affect yesterday

Yes, but the lift broke pretty soon after and didn’t reopen. Short north was open most of the day.

Got two great runs down brand x before the lift broke. Feel bad for those who were stuck on it. Hope they got them off relatively quickly. As mentioned gates 4+ were open most of the day. Crowds weren't bad for a post ikon weekend.

Snow in the PNW 20-21: We may have Corona but Corona doesn't have us!

Which of you hipsters was arcing for KOMO glory?

“In Seattle, about 100 skiers and sliders are enjoying the snowy Queen Anne Hill counterbalance, said resident and safe-streets activist Mark Ostrow.

Skiers and snowboarders tend to glide all the way down to Roy Street, while children are bailing out after a couple blocks, he said.

"It's mostly people sliding on whatever they can find -- laundry hampers, cardboard boxes covered in duct tape, inner tubes, and some people in '70s European ski outfits," said Ostrow, standing on a streetcorner.

So far, the snow is new and crunchy, so most are zigzagging or sliding at casual speeds, he said.”

Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Nah just south Queen Anne hill and north Queen Anne. Best run was like Boston down to Florentia on Warren, just bombing down. Good vibes all around, people out and about, everyone in good spirits. Praise be to the cluster that is Seattle public works for not doing shit about roads.

I love it when it snows in Seattle! I guess people are ok driving in snow at the passes but not in town? Yesterday was the best day i've had at stevens this year. Smallest crowd ive seen there. Ski right onto the lift and amazing conditions. Was able to find untracked snow until my legs failed at about 430. Westbound traffic on 2 closed until about 7pm due to slides.

Yep. Seattle basically has no plows, so most everyone in the city stays put.

Snow in the PNW 20-21: We may have Corona but Corona doesn't have us!

The last two weeks have been great midweek. Chair bump to 6000’, 500’ skin and then 1000’ of untracked fluff. Groomer zoomer back to midway. Repeat.

Crystal today was awesome, had my best day of skiing of the season so far. Snow was great (I am a sucker for soft chop), and no lines. Rocked up at 11.30 to find B-lot 60% full. Northway skied great, and so did chair 6. The snow right underneath chair 6 was windbuffed, which was tons of fun. Did not get to Southback, but no regrets as the day was great.

Most likely will head back there on Tuesday if anyone here wants to link up!

The deepest and lightest snow that WA ever gets. Truly amazing.
The challenge was finding slopes steep enough to ski but not slide. Very touchy out there - test slopes were failing readily 8-12 inches down (and that was yesterday, probably double that today). Fortunately the snow is so fantastically light that 20-30 degree slopes are plenty fun! Stay safe out there.
