I don’t think greenwater would still be there let alone the base area of 80” of snowpack disappeared in 24hrs.

Or there were a lot of dump trucks out there last night.

Spring touring on the Cascade Volcanoes is a unique and wonderful subset of skiing. It's what I miss most about leaving the PNW. Nicely done.

Not bad. Those top sheets seem to be in good shape which is rare for those older Moments. Mine are trashed. Great ski!

I havent been up yet but it's been damn windy and cold in Winthrop today with frost warnings tomorrow. I have a hard time believing there will be good corn tomorrow but I have been wrong before.

Been mulling a trip over this way. Any chance things could be in a corn cycle up high this week for the nice midweek weather? Or is the new snow gonna take a few days to get there?

    1) No chance.
    2) It’s fucking up the conditions completely. It’ll take weeks, maybe months, if ever.

There was a little fresh to smooth things out at WA Pass yesterday. Stayed pretty firm at the top, but skied fine. Should be great corn up there this week.Click image for larger version.

Crustal closer was skanky, janky and manky. Neither Northway nor 6 opened. But Groin Valley and the Frontside offered some goods. Iceberg was a ruse: groomed until the lip, then big,. tough bumps.

Everything from fast raincorn to gluey schmoo that tried to suck your boots off.

Groimers were the ticket, but some of the cut up glop from yesterday skied OK. Some was chunktastic.

What a year, what a February, 5 months+ of lift served. Now on to the passes and glaciers.

Silver King lifted the fog, slides on the Throne.
