    California/Colorado/Washington/Oregon might make it to Christmas. Utah won't last much past Thanksgiving. New Mexico/Arizona won't open cuz no snow.

    Better head to Minnesota cuz ya know you becha

    No, now you’re supposed to just get it, and the president pays for your expensive treatments. He said he’s got us all covered. Don’t be afraid of it.

    NM is about to get nailed next week, don’t need a mask when you’re wearing a snorkel, brah.

    My home hill is certainly putting their best foot forward. Four weeks out from claimed opening and still no covid plan.

    No matter how bad it gets, I have a hard time imagining the government in Utah, Idaho or Wyoming would force resorts to shut down. Schools, restaurants and everything else is open despite dire situations, why would they care about resorts?

    Because one of the original large spreading episodes was linked to a Resort in Austria last spring.

    I believe this is more a comment on the political leanings of the states and their hesitancy to force businesses to close rather than where people contract Covid.

    I'd say Bridger since MT isn't doing so hot, people don't seem to be overly concerned and the fact that Bridger gives a shit.

    I'm gonna have to go with App in Boone, NC. Fucking redneck central. Not the mask-wearing, social distance-abiding type.

    I know of a couple that travelled in early March to Austria on a ski trip with a group that came back with symptoms and were out for a few weeks recovering. 1 or 2 in their group was officially tested/diagnosed with Covid, but the rest weren't able to be tested at that point due to lack of capacity. I think at least half of their 20+ group developed symptoms after returning.

    Since Utah is maxing out on ICU beds, I'll go with them at least shutting down or restricting flights in, at least. If not, horribly irresponsible leadership. So, Snowbird.

    I'd put a $1 on Brighton because they usually open first but as Evan said "High pressure returns by mid next week. At this point, I see no major pattern change or chances for storms thru the first week of November...." :{

    I agree that bridger is not Austria but I don't think this has anything to do with political leanings... places where a lot of people congregate will be problematic and where there are few people will be less so. More people at mega resorts than smaller towns.

    Seeing pictures of lift lines in Colorado on a powder day last year makes me think places like Vail could be as problematic as Austria... but one of my local favourites is castle mountain alberta and their lower attendance would make me feel safer.

    And I'm pretty sure these transmissions were traced to one ski resort in particular, not the country of austria.

    It can happen.

    They may give a shit about the Bozeman community. But do they give a shit about all the other communities in Montana that the Bozeman skiers will travel to for skiing? Point being, for all ski areas, that's the conundrum. Closing one doesn't really do any good.

    One woman described the club scene as “wet”. What I’m saying is we’ve learned a lot. These people were like fuck it, let’s party. Had they not thrown 24 hour orgies, which has nothing to do with skiing, the town wouldn’t have been a super epicenter. But now ski resorts have a tough stigma to deal with because of that one instance.

    I would like to hope That no American resort is going to take any chance of that happening again, in places of business anyway.
