Well solitude sent out an email to push back opening day due to their snowmaking system being broken and the weather.
In the back of my mind, alterra bean counters were deciding to not spray millions of dollars of cash on a mountain that may or may not open and if it does, probably doesn’t generate a lot of cash. So spend on deer valley for Christmas and hope Mother Nature comes through in BCC.
I fished all day and pretty much guess I’ll be fishing all winter.

Indoor drinking and dining are still a-ok out here, get it while you can (if you're stupid enough to), I hope they shut it all down next week.

In Montrose there was no evidence whatsoever that there was a pandemic going on.

Rolled through Delta and Hotchkiss around dinner time Friday night and the restaurants were busy, people shoulder to shoulder at bars, etc. We have met the enemy, and they are us.

I would rather wear gloves and a puffy to drink outside in the cold shade than deal with my beer getting skunky from being light-struck and the inevitable soul-crushing headache that comes from drinking any alcohol in the sun.

Yup. I'm traveling back and forth between Montrose and SLC regularly for work right now. Combine that with my wife doing home health care for science deniers and its only a matter of time for me. Here's to hoping I get a mild case.

The only redeeming qualities Montrose seemed to have were the prevalence of ethanol free gas and free air at gas stations.

Around where I live/work mask compliance seems to be pretty good, but relative to Washington (where I recently moved from) people here have egregious disregard for maintaining social distance. I've had to tell more people to back up a few steps in the last three weeks than I did in the previous 9 months.

If I can tell what color your eyes are, YOU ARE TOO FUCKING CLOSE!

I actually dig it here, pandemic and politics notwithstanding. But I hope to do better someday I suppose.

I dont really get this: how much does Solitude actually rely on snowmaking? Also, I understand if it was bone dry, didn't they get 4'+ already? Not enough to push some snow around and open some grassy groomers?

^ I apologize. I thought it was a caption contest. Now it is less gossipy but still factual.

Around here, my girlfriend is trying to convince me to eat dinner in a tent in a parking lot at night with no heaters, and I'm like, why? I can cook. What's the point?

I don't think Bunny has ever checked into to that thread in life.
