    Tremors, WTF!?

Did anyone else know that Tremors, the wonderfully wonky giant worm horror comedy from 1990, has spawned no less than 6 sequels and a TV show?

I guess it's nice that somebody has felt the need to keep Steven Keaton employed all these years...

The first was awesome, I mean it had Reba fucking McEntire wielding automatic weapons and tossing homemade pipe bombs. The second sucked and I knew they made a third, but 6?

    I know, right.

I subsequently spiraled down the nerd wormhole and learned that there have been 8 Leprechaun films!
The winner, though, for pointless horror franchise, may very well go to Child's Play and Chucky: 8 films, 2 short films, a videogame, and a forthcoming TV series!
What's sad is that I have seen all 8 of the Child's Play films. Though admittedly, the original Child's Play is classic 80s horror and a couple of the sequels were pretty gonzo out there (Bride of Chucky), but overall I am surprised that they keep making them.
I only saw the first 2 Tremors (and agree with you that the first is awesome, the sequel, not so much), but again I am surprised that they keep churning them out. Then again, they made a slew of those Sharknado films...
I think I saw the first 5 Leprechaun movies (but that was only because I interviewed Warwick Davis in 2002 and was diligent about my research before I spoke with him).

How many Halloween films were spawned by Halloween? I mean, not just the title, same theme? Demented outsider in mask who couldn't be killed.

^11 Halloween movies to date, with 2 more in the pipeline, so a total of 13...

Haven't nerded out enough to see how many F13 or NOES or TCM films there have been...
