You want weight? You should try a pair of Dynastar Cham 127s with metal Drivers.

I have a pair of now discontinued Sick Day 125s. Progressive shape, directional mount and flex, no metal. They are a pain in the knees to get on edge and need about 3 inches minimum to work at all. However once there is 6 inches or more they are super fun and even such a small amount of fresh gives that great floaty feeling. I usually stick to my OG Cochise until that point.

Fat Skis: Is 120 waist and up worth it?
“My skis are heavy” cry me a fucking river. All you people bitching about heavy inbound skis are the fucking reason our inbound charger selection suuucks right now. Ffs. I even like my inbounds pow skis on the heavy side to bust through the shit. The one and only place a heavy inbounds ski sucks is hanging from a lift if not equipped with a foot rest, other then that they rule. Fucking weakling beaters.....
Fight me! Lol

I’m not complaining, most of my skis have two sheets of metal and are heavy.

Sent from my iPhone using TGR ForumsI need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Fat Skis: Is 120 waist and up worth it?
On a whim I recently bought a pair of 2010 Liberty Double Helix 150-121-140 182 cm 24 m radius off craigslist for $120 with binders and in great shape. I figured I NEEDED something like that for the three days they might be worth having. Has anybody ridden these?

SFB might have mentioned this earlier in the thread but super fat skis are also very efficient when new snow fall is minimal. They give you that extra float to stay off the bottom especially if they’re a softer flexing ski. I’m all about renegades for true pow days but a soft flexing fatty makes 6” days way better, I bought wet 118s specifically for this and they turned out to be awesome skis in many more conditions . Fatties also make upside down snow ski way easier. For example, Praxis pow boards can turn upside down into hero conditions.

Aren’t those Czars basically comp skis from 8-10 years ago? Weren’t they Cody’s answer for Salomon bringing a hard charger to the table?
If they are stiff, with traditional camber and tip rocker, you should definitely try another genre for new snow.
You could go in two directions and benefit from both, IMO.
A soft fatty with minimal camber and tip/tail rocker would definitely show you something new.
A reverse camber and stiff fatty would also show you something new. And maybe even shelve the czar.
It’s hard to imagine a scenario where the Czar would out-perform a Renegade in northern Idaho aside from mashing crud.
The Ren is likely looser but also likely still has the tail you seek for going straight.
Gonna miss that 45m radius, though.
Buy a Ren and go all in. Keep the Czar for crud and low tide.

So you are saying I need two new pairs of fat skis?
But yes, the Czars are fairly stiff with a rocker/camber profile. I think mine are the 2012 model.

Am I the only one who thinks this is troll bait? Member since 2008 asking about fat skis on TGR?
Well played, sir.
