East Coast Roll Call #??? 20-21 Covid closures and hard core touring! Be Fit or Sit

Groms we’re going off at Smuggs today. 6-8” of new late week snow certainly kept the surface enjoyable for goniff and I. Only upper FIS was true ice but there were cold, soft bumps to control speed. We even ducked into Mustache and found decent coverage.

Slow fixed grip doubles meant trying to meet up with moeghoul was a cluster. He even missed lunch.

Skinned laps at Song. Was good.

GSA look alike with snowlerblades strapped to their pack showed up and did a lap.

    Finished with a surprise beer.

Moderate temps and sunshine but great midwinter conditions on the groomers was fun for ripping around in a shell and ballcap. Some exploration of the little known traverses even provided some good skiing in the tucked away sidestash’s. Skiing is still fun.

Looking at your pics, I think I’m in the “Song should have opened” camp. I’m glad somebody got to ski it at least.

Smuggs was good yesterday, but like they say, "shoulda been there thursday". Place was empty and it snowed all day.

    Skiing is fun!

No lines, lots of sun and ripe runs at mss today. Surprisingly empty, and good coverage made it feel emptier. Kind of felt an “everyone’s given up on skiing” vibe in the air this weekend.

Someone needs to inform this young lass that telemark skiing is dead. I saw on the TGRs.

That special time of year when bumpers bring out their braces to ski the VW bumps.

Le Massif was winter at the top and spring at the bottom. Coverage got pretty sporty at times.

    Chased this guy everywhere.
