Laps, jhyatt, and I made the most of what was available in the Stowe backcountry this morning.

We topped out just around 4,000’. The howling wind on the ridge made the decision to stay in the lee and easy one.

I’m the official snow tester of Team FRS. Sometimes multiple full immersion tests are required.

i *thought* they might jump on this ideal snowmaking window but damn! any lingering doubts about what 'last hill running' meant thus year have been erased.

[that *is* a current post, right? ;0]

    add: PASS PURCHASED.
i read on killington zone that bear will stay open later than usual, with OL having gotten some nozzle love as well

    +1 ^^^

Only a couple inches of windblown around here out of the squalls, lemonade fairly sour. Bucket, that picture was fresh, Star cam shows they groomed it out already.

Fucking cold out today, up to 5º now w/sub zero mid/summit temps. Pass

*Slide brook is closed for the day. At Lincoln, Heaven's Gate is closed for the day. At Mt Ellen, Summit and North Ridge are closed for the day. GMX and Inverness are on wind hold.*

^^ yes i see they mowed it down ;0(
i love skiing supe when it's like a staircase of plateaus above the tops of the lift towers, and the different sight lines that result.
but now i'm just picking seeds out of the frosty good lemonade
add in the lack of the blue WC base and spring looks to be promising.

crazy temps. howling wind and a low of 6F overnite here in the flats.
    too bad it's so dry...

^^ right on. honorable, sportsmanly kid. dad providing the good example and support.

sounds like the scenario in the great late 60's ski flick "Downhill Racer" (with redford and hackman)

I can’t post the vid, but here are a few screenshots:
The other kid throwing a sweet twister spread off the jump. My son is several turns behind.

The other kid crashed. My son is just approaching the jump.

    My son getting his air.

And here he is, stopping his run to check on him
